My 7 week old got her first round of vaccines today and the rota virus oral vaccine was one of them. she spit out a bit of it and that got me wondering if the vaccine will still be effective. The doctor said she didnt want her to spit it out but then she still seemed satisfied with the amount of it that the baby swallowed.. did your baby spit it out as well?

My baby spat up every single time. Maybe except for the last dose. The first time I had nurse her right before the visit do I thought it was because her stomach was full. But the next time she spat up again. I, too, worried that it wouldn't be effective but the doctor said it's fine. It's written on he instructions not to give more even when the baby gags. So, I assume it's a common reaction.

Lala spit out nearly all of the first one... she was still seemingly protected with her next dose. It seems like they have margin of error for that.

The nurse who gave the LO the oral vaccine was a pro at it. She held LO's tongue down then administered it then held LO's lips together for a few seconds...no spit up!

yeah, a lot of it kind of dribbled out.
