So DH does bedtime and he puts DD down drowsy but awake. She puts herself to sleep and generally sleeps 11-12 hours at night, sometimes with one wake up to eat, quite often not.
For naps, I nurse her to drowsy and put her down. She usually takes a 1.5-2 hour nap in both the morning and afternoon, and then a 30-ish minute catnap in the late afternoon to carry her through to bed time. I keep her awake time to 90 minutes.
The last couple days she's shown signs of tiredness after two hours (so I'm thinking of extending her awake time - she's 4.5 months old), but when I try to nurse her to drowsy she basically just refuses. Today, after going through this for a couple hours this morning and being really frustrated, I just put her down and walked away. I fully expected her to start crying and I planned to come back in at that point. Well, she didn't cry at all and when I looked at the monitor after about 10 minutes she was sound asleep.
Do you think it's possible that she doesn't want me to put her to sleep anymore and wants to do it herself? Not that that would be a bad thing!Just trying to crack the code!
Just as you think you've gotten into a good routine these babies have to throw you a curveball!
