Today is my last day in the office (working remotely til baby's arrival) and I was totally surprised by a shower from my team! I'm so overwhelmed! Custom 2 tier cake, a diaper cake, gift card for baby, and mommy pedicure $$! They threw me a huge shower when I was pregnant with DS1 that was unexpected as well. So grateful for their generosity and thoughtfulness!
They said "every baby should be celebrated." So, so sweet!!

My team typically does showers for babies or weddings. I know they are throwing me one as one of the girls on my team told me she's in charge of throwing my surprise shower! haha

Yes, there were 3 of us pregnant in our department and due within weeks of each other so we had a really big shower for all of us. It was so kind and so appreciated. At my current job, no one would throw me a shower, it's just not that type of environment.

That's so sweet! The policy at my school is that first weddings and first babies get a shower but none after.

Yes! For #1 they threw me a lovely shower and invited all of our regular customers! It was LOVELY.
For #2 I worked at a different place, but they took me out for a "mommy shower." Pedicures, manicures, nice dinner on the water, and presents for me instead of the baby. It was so, so wonderful.

They threw me one when I was pregnant with DS. They've already mentioned throwing me another one when I'm pregnant with #2. It's so thoughtful of them since we're not really co-workers or in the same department.

Yes, nice showers with food and games for #1 and #2. I didn't expect anything for #2. I was really surprised that the gift card amount was bigger for #2. I thought what I got for #1 was very generous.

Yup, we had one baby celebration for me and two other coworkers who were expecting. I was 16 weeks along so I felt like it was super early but my coworker directly works with me and my boss wanted her to be there to celebrate my babies. Oh, one coworker was due that month and the other was due the next month. I was about 4-5 months from my due date.
The funny thing is our department is pretty lean and the running joke was that we were creating employees for our group. Between the 3 of us expecting, we had 4 babies (with my twins).

Nope. But we all were supposed to go out to lunch together. Unfortunately that was the morning that my OB sent me to labor and delivery to be induced for pre-e. So we never got the chance to do our lunch!

Yes, a lot of people got together and did a big one for me for LO1. I work somewhere else now, but I don't really expect them to do one for this baby.

I don't know if they will. Wouldn't be surprised either way. They used to throw showers for people, but in the past few years, there has been some bickering in my department (which I haven't been a part of), but needless to say, the group celebrations have been ratcheted back

I WFH and my coworkers are scattered around geographically. But they sent a group gift card after E was born. This time I doubt they will, but a few coworkers have already sent cards and gift cards individually. DH works in a kitchen so they can't exactly stop dinner service to have a party, but they did go out after work for a diaper shower with LO1. I don't think he's as close to these coworkers as he was his then, so I don't know that they'll do anything.

That's so nice! My office usually only does showers for first babies, but for a second+, her team might take her out to lunch or something.

Yes! They did for #1 and even invited DH who took a half day off work to come down for it. It was seriously very sweet, and everyone was so generous!
They definitely won't for #2. They're big on just doing it for the first which I totally agree with!

So sweet! My work did, I'm the youngest at my work by a lot and most of the people there are women. They were all very excited about my pregnancy.

Yes-- wedding shower, and baby showers for LO1, and LO2.
I'm newly pregnant with LO3 and will politely tell them NOT to do anything for me bc I already feel so spoiled!

There have been showers for each of my coworkers who have had babies (first and second) since I've been there. I'm trying hard not to expect one, but it's a challenge!

They did, and I was so surprised! They even went behind my back to get my husband to come. We typically do a group gift for weddings and babies, but not as big of a celebration as they planned this time around. It was really sweet of them.

My job always throws everyone a shower. It's so nice and they usually go in on one big gift from registry and then some people get additional smaller items like onesies/outfits, wipes, etc.
