My DH thinks babies have 5-6 dirty diapers a day, eat 3 times a day, and sleep all the time. He's been around kiddos, but not for more than a couple of hours.
I think babies have 10-12 diapers a day (and by babies, I'm talking about newborns-6/8 months) and eat every 2-4 hours.
It'll be interesting once LO arrives!
Did your DH know what he signed up for? Did you?

Heck no! We were talking about what our future LO might have of his physical traits and of mine..he was under the impression that babies were born with teeth. I will never let him live that down lol!

He had no clue and I didn't really either (though I knew the basics like diapers, how often to eat etc.). He caught on fast though by signing up for Babycenter emails and going on all of LO's early doctor's appointments. Within hours of LO's birth, he became the most dedicated, hands-on, loving dad ever! He is wrapped around LO's finger, it's really cute.

Neither of us knew. To be honest..... Now that lo is a toddler I already forgot a lot about newborns!

I had no clue what I was signing up for, but then this is my and DW's first, so I'm not sure that there was an awful lot to prepare me. That said, @septemberlove, as I'm in charge of diaper duty, I can attest that there's no way I only do six changes in 24 hours!

I'm not sure any first time parents know what they are getting into! But I certainly know a lot more about it-- both from spending a lot more time with babies, and from researching, talking to friends with babies, etc. There have been a few conversations about how much time I'll have staying at home with a newborn, which I shut down right away 
@MrsTiz: Babies being born with teeth is hilarious. I'm picturing adult size dentures.

Yep, way more than I do, actually. He has 6 nieces and nephews and he was very much involved in raising a few of them, so he has a great idea of what it takes. I, on the other hand, haven't been around babies in over 10 years sooo I'm clueless!
