pfft! My dogs had no idea, bless their dumb little hearts. They're not very perceptive.

Mine had no clue. We even did the whole bring a baby blanket home from the hospital thing so he'd get used to her scent..... But he kept looking at us like "why is she still here? What is that screaming thing? Take it back!" Total surprise.

Yes, they became very protective of me.

My cat knows something is up. She's been pretty close to me all the pregnancy, but now, at 32 weeks, she doesn't stay far away. She even is right next to me at night time. But, she's been through this before, so she probably knows what to expect.

My other cat, is the opposite. He used to be more clingy to me, but now he's more independent from me. However, he's grown from kitten to cat in the past 5 months, so it could be just that he's a cat, lol.

I believe this!! My dogs totally knew I was pregnant!! Hmm, I wonder if labour is close??

I think my family dog knew. She would be very protective when I come visit my family.

My pug has absolutely no clue. All he knows is that it is annoying that I wake him up constantly at night so I can pee.

Our Golden Retriever, on the other hand, definitely knows that something is up. He has been SUPER protective. He follows me everywhere. He sat next to me in the bathroom the whole first trimester whenever I vomited. If I shut him out of the bedroom at night he sleeps right outside my bedroom door. It is pretty crazy. He also cuddles a lot more now with his head on my belly. I'm hoping he will continue the protective streak with LO gets here!

I don't think she had much idea or she wouldn't have jumped on my stomach so much! She was pretty protective though and she is not very happy about the nursery. She peed on the rug the first night we put it in.
