We never had lights on the outside of our house! I was always jealous of the festive homes on our block!

We didn't but we had a little condo growing up, so it wasn't really worth it for us. DH and I put up lights on our home now- we love being part of the holiday decor on our street! Every year we want to add more stuff haha.

yep. We had garlands on our front porch and white lights in the 2 trees next to the entranceway. And those candle light thingies in the window. I cant wait to hang lights this year!

Yes! We put lights out on the house and porch. I'm somewhat excited to move away from our current location so that we can do lawn decorations, too.
We get too much snow right now, unfortunately, so lawn decorations just get crushed...

Yes and it was a production every year. I loved it and is something I carried forward to my own house.

Every year!! Growing up I'd always help my dad put them out. DH and I have pot lights inset into our soffits outside so we change those to red and green, we have two little potted topiaries on our doorway and we string some lights on the bushes and trees. And always a wreath on the door!

Nope, my parents used to get a tree just for us kids growing up, but never went as far as lights. DH and I do lights on our house now. It's so fun and festive!

Every year!!!
My husband refuses to do it because he's scared of heights and doesn't like decorating for holidays. This makes me sad because I miss it so much!! I might have to try and figure something else out.. haha

Yup all around the house! Now my parents just do the bushes.

Nope, but we were Jewish.
Someone in my town put up their lights already (and they cover their entire roof in them and blind you as you drive by). Saw them last night!

We usually did, and I think they still do! Just your basic strand of lights around the edge of roof, nothing too crazy.

Yup. We usually had decorations like candles in the windows, some lights on the porch, maybe a wreath in the door, and some light-up plastic figures. I still do this at my house now.

My dad always did the trees and bushes in our front yard, plus on the front porch. We also had a family of wire deer with lights on them. And for a few years we had a special "porch tree." Since my parents moved a few years ago, they have greatly simplified and just put some icicle lights along the front porch.

Yes, it was fabulous! Now knowing how much goes into it, I feel so bad for my poor dad!

We hung lights around our windows
Never outside though

Yes, my dad usually does a few smaller trees in front, nothing over the top.

Yes! We always did, and even went down to the beach house and put lights on it on a timer so it was festive, too! DH and I hung lights on our apartment balcony last year, but now that we're in a house my purse cringes at the thought of buying lights!

Nope but we lived rurally so no one would see it,
We live in an apt so we might put some on the balcony

When we moved into my grandparents old house we decorated it the same way they did for years. It was always a big deal to ring up the lights at Grandpa's house. As much as I would like to hang them up here it's not going to happen, we don't have anywhere to plug them in at.
