Nope! We all ate breakfast together and then after everything was washed and put away, my parents would sit on the couch to read the paper and I would read the comics section or the TV guide to see when my shows were coming on.

If I eat breakfast alone at home, I check my emails and surf the internet with my phone. If I'm with someone, I don't. We have a "no phone" rule during meal times. It can be on and nearby so we can check incoming text messages on the screen to make sure it's not important or if someone calls, but otherwise, no responding to text messages or using the phone.

Only on Sundays maybe? I have a vague memory of it. My parents never cooked breakfast so I am not sure.
