If you didn't tell before birth....what did family/friends think you were going to name your baby?
My mom recently told me she thought we were going to name our daughter Quinn. My best friend thought we would name her Lauren.

If this is a boy, my family all thinks he will be Samuel. Little do they know he will be Lachlan, a tribute to my maiden name
they will be so surprised !

They all had different ones. Edith after my great-grandma was mentioned by a couple people.

We have been keeping our names to ourselves, but last night my MIL insisted we told her we had settled on Pippa. I'm pretty sure it's a boy, so I'm not sure where she got a girl name, or Pippa. I do really like Poppy for a girl... Again, I'm quite sure it's a boy.

No one has offered guesses really. This kind of makes me want to ask to see what people think. We are TG and are not sharing our names but I have told our families that we will use Mae as a middle name if it is a girl after my favorite Aunt and DH's grandmother.
My mom keeps sending suggestions and they are all totally not our style so I think we might surprise her with the names we've picked.

No one really guessed- they just got annoyed that we didn't tell.
@Bluemasonjar: I did share that if it was a girl (which she is) we would have some version of Mary in there, after both our moms and my grandmother. Her middle name is Mae, which is my grandmothers nickname.

My brother and DH's niece actually both suggested the name we had chosen. So they both think they had a say in naming him. I had the name picked when we started TTC though.

nobody asked (or at least nobody got an answer) but everyone was surprised when DD was born and we told them her name @Smurfette: which is the name you just mentioned
It was in memory of my great aunt (though her name is different, it sounds similar in Greek), only my brother said that he thought we would name DD after her.

My best friend thought Noah based on my fave name from 15 years ago. Her mom thought Josh, lol.
No one else really guessed.

@mediagirl: that is so weird! Those (Quinn and Lauren) were 2 of my mom's guesses!
My dad and step mom thought we were going to use Sophie.
My grandfather freaked me the eff out and guessed "Sloan," so I had to tell him he was right, just missed the E at the end, and I swore him to secrecy.

Well, we told family that her name was Kennedy, but my grandpa got confused and was telling everyone her name was Wellington. I guess they're both last names?!?!

We actually did a guess spreadsheet this round. Some of our family/friend guesses were: Mila Jo, Eloise Jo, Evelyn Rose, Adelyn Jo, Elyse, Eliza, Eva, Elsa. Most thought we would stick with the an E (we did) my younger sister guessed right with Everly. Mila was actually on our list as well (Jo is my middle name which is why there were so many guesses with that!)

We told them her name was Hyla, but before that I think they thought we would go with a family name (I'd love to do Echo, but my aunt beat me to it!).
