We politely told them no thank you. I was recovering from my csection and trying to figure out nursing and both LO and I had IVs for antibiotics. Also we were doing newborn photos when we got home so I was fine not having the hospital photographer take photos

We ended up having to request the photographer to come since we kept missing them during rotation. After she took the pictures, she put them to some sappy music and had DH hook line and sinker. Total waste of money in my book, but I am happy that I have a few pics of LO when he was just days old. I didn't know what to expect in terms of my involvement in the photos. Next time I will know that DH and I need to be photo ready too. ETA: Were the photos good? IMO, no, but that has everything to do with how LO looked rather than the photog's skill. I didn't have a straight out of the womb cutie.

My girls were born in two different states, but both hospitals contracted with the same company for photography. The pictures came out really nicely, and a disk of the images was much cheaper than newborn photography at home. That said, I knew to expect it, so I had brought a special blanket for a prop and had a decent enough cardigan and nursing tank for myself. They came by and gave us a warning so we could fix ourselves up a bit, and they also took pictures of my parents and inlaws with us. I was really happy both times and used the photos for birth announcements.

Ours weren't amazing or anything but I still wanted them...no substitute for pictures from the first day of life! BtW ours came and asked if we wanted pictures and agreed on a time. It was Mom360.

They weren't soectacular but I did use them for the birth announcement and I have a nice framed piece hanging up in the house. I honestly don't remember much since I was so out of it. I was happy enough with them. I'm hoping to have a similar experience this time around.

both my hospitals had it. the first time, i let them do it and they used a flash in my 1 day olds eyes. i said nope the next time. (i'm a photographer and i KNEW they weren't going to be good, but i think i was just surprised by them the first time so i said yes!)

We will definitely decline next time. She came back several times as I was always nursing when she came by and by the third time I just wanted to tell her to forget it and regret not doing so. My anxiety was so high and now this stranger was fussing with my baby. She also offered my disagree a pacifier after I told her not to and was pretty flippant about my stress level as she tried to comfort my 36 hour old newborn who just wanted a boob to calm down, not a stranger fumbling about.

We declined. I never participate in situations like that. I don't like feeling like my money is someone else's prey just because I am a captive audience.

We haven't delivered yet but a friend just did at the same hospital we will. She gave me a heads up so I packed a cute outfit & blanket for baby girl and have a few options for DH and I. My hubs is typically anti-photos, so I am hoping to be able to use the hospital sending the photog in as an opportunity to get some early family photos that we wouldn't have otherwise. Ours is very reasonable.

I have to say, mine were great. With my first son, I had not expected it so I had nothing prepared and had already hired a newborn photographer. So even though the pics came out cute, I did not purchase them. With my second, I was more prepared with the outfit/blanket I wanted.

The photographer came twice when I was not ready- the first time I was breast feeding and the second time I was not showered yet. Each time I just asked her to come back later. The third time she came back she worked very quickly and efficiently. I think the pics of the baby came out great! My only complaints would be how I looked (I could have done more or looked in a mirror before she came but didn't because I was just too tired/distracted) and that big brother was not there. BUT I got good pics of my newborn and it was much cheaper than hiring a private newborn photographer so it wound up being the best option for us.

They did and took pictures. They weren't great and we didn't buy any. Might just skip it this time.

They had it at our hospital but you had to ask to have them come.

Yes, ours sent a photographer but we weren't under obligation to buy the photos, so we gave it a shot. Like previous posters, ours also came at a bad time. She wanted LO to go to sleep but LO was awake, so she kept asking if she'd go to sleep if she gave her a pacifier (as if I'd know with a baby who was like 1 day old at that point). Finally, she just took the photos with LO just looking kind of squinty in this little basket. The lighting was bad and the photos came out very strange, but MIL wanted some so we bought the smallest package and never looked at them again. We actually found them all in LO's closet when we were cleaning it out a few weeks ago and I kept one for LO to laugh at later and threw all the rest away.

They came by, but like many others we also declined. They came the day after dd was born, but I was still really not feeling great from my cs. I had some friends use the in-hospital photographers and loved them!!

There might have just been a pamphlet? If someone came, I honestly do not recall! Unless DH declined or something when I was sleeping?
