This wasn't a challenge this I faced with my in laws, but I do think the relationship between my husband and my mom improved when our daughter was born.

kind of! after I had my older daughter there was a lot of friction and drama with them. but once that was hashed out, things got better. they're MUCH better this time around.

Nope. MIL calls me groceries because that's all I'm good for...breastfeeding her grand babies.
She still hasn't said anything to me about #2, she'll be six weeks on Monday.

@oliviaoblivia: Ugh my MIL continues to be awful as well. Now she comes around all of the time to make sure her granddaughter, you know the one she wasn't excited about...her only one, is still alive.

My in-laws and I already got along well. I feel though like my position in DH's family is more secure now though, if that makes sense.

@oliviaoblivia: you're not alone - my MIL used to "uck blah, you're still breastfeeding?" when he was 2 months old. She barely speaks English, is 80 and from Indonesian.
She also said she was glad I had a boy because she "prefers boys"

There were never any issues with my in-laws, but my mom likes dh a lot better now.
