Yes, very hard, but only for a couple minutes. She cried most right before we did it when I pretty much had to hold her down forcefully because she wouldn't lay down, didn't actually cry any worse when they did the actual shot. As soon as I let her up she was ok by wouldn't let the nurse give her the bandaid, then when we gave her the bandaid to put on herself she put it on her knee of the leg that didn't get the shot and was "all better".

Then I gave her fruit snacks and all was right with the world.

My daughter flipped because she had to get tested for mono. Her flu shot is coming up and I'm dreading it. We may opt for the mist of its available.

My toddlers (3.5 & 2.5) didn't cry for their flu shots but LO 3 cried after her 2 month shots.

Yup! DS is 2 and wails then points at the nurse to tattle on her to me that she hurt him. lol

He always cries. I hate it!

DD was already crying BEFORE she got the flu shot b/c she had to lay down hahaha. When the shot went in she just cried harder for that few seconds lol.

@LBee: I knooow. I'm like what is so horrible about laying down? She fights it 100%!

Nope! She sat in my lap and I held her arm and didn't even make a peep when she got her flu shot. I think she was so excited about getting a piece of candy she didn't care.

Yes but I always take him out for ice cream or frozen yogurt after!

He's been really into playing doctor lately though and loves giving shots to his animals or me, so I'm curious how he'd do now!

My oldest has actually only ever cried once getting shots, and that was at 15 months. She takes them like a trooper.

But my second daughter cried really hard last time because she got the MMR, and that one stings!

Yes, just left the pediatricians office for LO's one year appointment, and he cried pretty hard for his 3 shots and tb test! Poor guy

DS is 2.5 and did not cry when he got his flu shot. He had a shocked look on his face but that was about it. DD is 9 months and cried, but was fine once we carried her.

No, I think they are using a smaller needle for flu shots this year because she barely noticed it! She was watching Mickey Mouse on my phone because it was actually her new brothers appointment.
