My mom lost her first, a daughter, a few short weeks after birth. Which is why there is such a huge age gap between my brothers & I. They always wanted a girl!

Yes, my mom had a miscarriage the year before I was born.

My mom had a miscarriage in between my sister and I. She lost a baby boy. My sister and I had to sit down and do the math one day because we were confused as to how she could lose a pregnancy in between us since we are a year and 4 months apart.

My mom had 2 miscarriages between me and my brother which is why there are 9 years between us. She was pregnant 3 summers in a row.

Your poor mom! It breaks my heart to hear folks losing their children.
My mom was lucky and didn't have any miscarriages.

I found out after I had ds, that she had a M/C after my younger brother and then she said she didn't get pregnant after that (tho they were never actively ttc afterwards, they were more ntnp)

Yes. I had a sister who died at 12 days old, a brother who was stillborn, and my mom had 2 miscarriages that I know of. She has a blood clotting disorder that I don't have that was a huge contributor, but I have still been an anxious wreck my entire pregnancy knowing her history.

@regberadaisy: That's so sad
My mom had two miscarriages between me and my older brother. Her mother had 4 that my mom knows about.

No, but my MIL had a m/c. My grandmother lost a baby too. I'm not sure when she lost him though, but she always refers to an angel in heaven watching over us. It might've been a stillbirth.

I don't think so. She had trouble conceiving and had to have a cerclage for her pregnancies.

No, not that she knows of.
My grandmother lost a baby shortly after birth. There were complications during the birth, then they thought she was fine, but she died only a day or two later. Doctors told her she probably wouldn't have more (she had my mom only then) and then she had 5 more!

Mom never had a mc & it only took once or twice to get both her kids.

My mom had a m/c at 12 weeks after my younger brother was born. It was right after my brother was born and I am pretty sure it was an oops baby, so she didn't go on to have anymore kids (she was also 42 at the time).

My mom had one right before me, and she lost one baby of a set of twins very early on as well. She has always been very open about it. But, she's also had five healthy pregnancies as well! She's a rock star

My mom did not have any miscarriages that I know of. And I think if she had she would have told me when I had mine.

My mom didn't, neither did MIL or SIL
DH's grandma gave birth to a full-term stillborn baby though

My mom had one before my older brother was born. She was about 10-12 weeks along.

Not that I know of. My MIL lost her eldest due to hunger while emigrating.

My mom never miscarried but I was her only baby - she tried for years without success.

No, but reading through this thread makes me so sad...

To the best of my knowledge, no. Three healthy babies.

I cannot be sure but I don't think so. My grandmother (her mom) has though.

My mom had a miscarriage of her first pregnancy... The year before she got pg with me.

My mom had a stillborn at 44 weeks. The Dr. didn't induce her early enough :'(

No. My mom had no clue how to help me through my miscarriage because she never experienced anything like that.

Yes, my mom had several early unexplained miscarriages (I think 4?) and an etopic pregnancy - all in between my brother and I. They wanted three kids, but by the time she conceived my brother at 38, it was too late to try for a third.

No, my mom never did. She got pregnant with my sister and I within 3 months of trying each time, so it was hard for her to relate to me when I had a miscarriage.
My MIL had one with her first pregnancy and didn't have DH (only child) for another 8 years. They stopped trying and he was kinda a "whatever happens, happens" baby.

Yes. My mom lost my brother. He was born, needed surgery, came through the surgery, and then crashed and died. My MIL had two miscarriages.

This post makes me both sad and glad... glad because, while it's horrible, it's nice to know that others have gone through it. Everything I've dealt with in TTC it's been nice to have others to talk to about it and know I'm not alone.
I don't know if my mom did but I wouldn't be surprised. She tried for a baby for 4 or 5 years? Then they adopted me! But then my mom ended up conceiving both my sisters after. I think I heard my mom telling someone once that her mom- who had 10 kids in I believe 17 years- had two miscarriages. I was young but I heard the convo where she was saying she was the oldest of 10, and how old the youngest is, and the other lady said "she had 10 in xx years?!?" and my mom said "yes plus two miscarriages." But I was young so I am not sure I remember right. This makes me want to ask my mom about her pregnancies, since we never really have talked about it!
