Oh yeah. We got married in her neighborhood, which is 2 1/2 hra from us so, she did a lot of legwork for me. It was so much fun to plan it with her! Her mom planned her whole wedding and she was so excited to help me plan mine. We had essentially the same vision, too.

No. I am in WA and she lives in AZ so she couldn't do much.

Oh my mom helped so much with the researching! she found my venue, caterer, dress shop, DOC... Probably more stuff than that. I was living with my parents while I was planning so it was nice to have something to do and talk about so I didn't pester my dh all the time.

I had very little help from my mom and that was totally fine by me. Actually I had very little help from both mothers. If I would have used their help, my wedding would not have been 'our' wedding; it would have been theirs.

My mom was pretty much my wedding planner. I told her what I wanted, but she kept everything organized and executed it all. I absolutely could not have done it without her... literally, because she paid for it! I was so lucky.

Not really. I live in Oregon, and we got married here, and my mom lives in Arizona. Besides that, she's not crafty at all, so there weren't any projects that we did together or that I consulted her on. She was awesome, though, about always listening to me ramble on about plans, and giving advice if I asked her for it. Also, she (and a bunch of my family members) totally kicked ass on the day of my wedding setting everything up. She was really excited about everything. I also went dress shopping with her, which was fun, and good mother-daughter bonding.

My mom did some things since she lives in Hawaii - where I had my wedding - and I was planning from London. Like she could see my flowers in person whereas I could not. But I did the majority of the planning.

She did. She helped me pick my dress, helped me with the cake tasting and style, helped with the food tasting, hired a musician to play as I walked down the aisle, and I actually gave her free reign with the flowers. I told her the colors I wanted and she handled the altar pieces, centerpieces, bouquets, bouts, etc. I am not a super finicky person that had to have things a certain way- as long as it was pretty, I was good with it!

No. My mom and I have completely different styles and preferences! She's also very opinionated! She did have to send me my wedding shoes because the place didn't ship abroad - they were red and weren't traditional. She was sending other things too, and I didn't even tell her they were my wedding shoes! I knew better, she would have been completely against them!

nope my mom lives on the other side of the us. but she's not big into that kinda stuff so i'm not sure how much she would have helped anyway. it's ok though... i like control.
