I received many a bowl cut at home until I started going to my own barber in high school!
Did your mom or dad cut your hair?

She cut my bangs a few times and my bangs kept starting farther and farther back in my hair. I think she realized maybe cutting hair wasn't her thing so she always took me to a hair stylist after that.

My mom always cut our hair. Mine was easy because it was long and straight so she just had to trim the ends. My sister had a bowl cut that my mom always did.

My mom still cuts my hair! It helps that she's a licensed hairdresser though

Oof, my mom did to save money. I have some aaaawesome elementary school photos. My favorites are the "too-long bowl cut" and the "femullet."

No, my mom always took me to a place. I cut DH and DS's hair, though. I go to a salon when I get mine done, lol

Yes until I seriously complained and my mom took me somewhere. It was at least until I was in junior high. Oh God.

I just had it cut straight across so either my mom or dad would cut it. Even now I just have DH give me a trim.

Yep, I got a few bowl cuts... AND a home perm when I was 5 and 9. Not a good look...

No. I think my first hair cut was 12 by a pro. Even that was only a trim.

I've always had very long hair. When I was a kid it was all one length, so my mom used to trim the ends for me.

@mrbee: It was long, but uneven and not necessarily very healthy. My kids will get regular trims.

My mom gave me a straight cut up until highschool when I begged to go to a real stylist for my birthday. I never had the bowl cut though because my mom wanted me to have long hair.
My lucky brothers just got their hair buzzed. I almost would have preferred that. LOL.
