I think my parents definitely showed favoritism towards my brother who is a few years older. He also has a much more agreeable personality so I'm sure that was a factor too! 
It hasn't scarred me for life but I definitely don't want to continue that pattern with my own kids.

I'm closer to my mom, my dad is closer to my sister and my brother likes to be left alone. Ha. I feel like I was probably favored but really our parents supported us all and also called us out on our crap too.

Yeah, I think I was a favorite because I had better grades and stayed out of trouble. Also, I generally listened to my parents. My brother was a favorite because he was the youngest boy but he also had bad grades and got in trouble a lot (had some run-ins with the law, too). He still got away with a lot of stuff that I wouldn't have.
Now that we are older, my brother is now the favorite. He is still the baby and will listen and try to help my parents. My sisters and I are fed up with my parents (mainly my dad) and we've voiced our opinions. So that does not sit well with them.

Not by our parents but we are definitely our maternal grandparents favorites. And now DD is her maternal great grams favorite I think simply bc shes my daughter

My mom favors my oldest sister, and my dad favors me. It's very obvious. I want my kids to know that we love them equally. No favorites here. Okay my favorite child is the one who isn't throwing a tantrum.

No, but DH's parents obviously favor his sister. It has caused rifts.
ETA: My mom may favor my brother and my dad me, but it isn't super obvious and they make efforts to treat us equally.

Nope!! My parents seemed very fair and I never thought they favored one of us over the other (I should ask my brother if he feels the same way). I do think they gave my brother more leeway to do things because he was a big guy and I was a girl, but other than that, they seemed to treat us both pretty equally.
But now I'm the favorite because I gave them grandkids.

Yes, me. But given the behavior of my siblings (drugs, arrests, rehab) the fact that I didn't get into troube and graduated high school greatly weighed into it.
They've mostly cleaned up, but I'm still my mom's favorite by far, though.

I took my mom to therapy with me once in my 20's and she flat out said they paid more attention to my sister. I will NOT let that happen with my kids.

When I was a teenager and young adult I very much felt like my parents favored my younger brother. Now I think he was just "easier" for them - outgoing, athletic, popular, and always my mom's "baby." I was really introverted, sullen, and mentally ill, which my parents were in denial about. With my own children, I want to make more of an effort to acknowledge and help with any mental health issues they may have.

There was definitely a favorite out of the 5 of us. We all joked about it during childhood, but it is still VERY true today, even in adulthood. I think the sibling in question knows she's the favorite, too. It's undeniable!

No, my parents treated us pretty equally. I think now I might be my mom's favorite....we've always been very similar (which made us butt heads really bad growing up) but now it works out perfectly.
I will say my paternal grandmother clearly had a favorite (my older sister) and we all knew/know it and still joke about it. It was always what M wanted no matter what. I was her least favorite, I was clumsy and broke stuff all the time. Took me awhile to get over it but now I am.

My parents worked REALLY hard to treat us both equally. Who knows - they might've had a favorite, but they never showed it!

Yes, my older sister. My mom was less obvious about it but my dad was awful to me for a long period when he was married to another woman and clearly favored her kids and then my sister.
But we've all worked out our issues now mostly and I think my parents love us both but think my sister is more responsible, etc. I love my sister so I just deal with it.

My mom definitely favored the 2 boys. We could all tell. My dad was more neutral, maybe even harder on the boys so it evened out a bit.
I didn't feel treated badly (there were 6 of us), but the teenage years were toughish because small injustices are so dramatic at that age.

Well I'm a middle child lol. I think we are all favored in different ways. My older sister cause she was successful in school, never caused any trouble, married her highschool sweetheart and she also gets bonus points for giving my parents two grandkids fairly early on. My younger sister is most defiantly my parents baby. As much as they gripe about her living at home and everything they love having someone to look after. Where I am very much like my mother so we get along really well but butt heads alot. I think my father has a harder time understanding me but works really hard at it. But I would have to say we are all treated very much like princesses.

I never felt like there was a favorite growing up, but now it seems like my youngest brother is the clear favorite.
My husband joked with me that my mom must love me the least of the 3 of us, because when we visit we get the worst car!

With my parents no, but I could tell you who the favourite grandchild was. It was obvious even to a 4 year old, that one of my cousins was the golden child. She wasn't any smarter or better than the rest of us, nor was she the oldest grandchild. So I still don't get it.

One of my brothers and I were overachievers (skipping several grades, high test results, etc.), so my dad went too far, in my opinion, making up for it by favoring my other brother. It still causes problems even though we're adults now.

I don't have experience with this, since I'm an only child, but DH says he has seen favoritism in his family. He is the oldest of 3 boys, but he thinks the middle child is his dad's favorite, and the youngest is his mom's favorite. They are both more like the parents who favor them, while DH has gone on his own path and formed his own opinions.

Yes, my brother was always the favorite ... mainly because he's a boy. I hated it, but I had girlfriends to commiserate with. I'm Asian and he fits the typical "only boy" stereotype.

My parents have always favored the youngest child and my husband's parents favor him, also the youngest. I think my husband is deserving of it though he's so good to his parents.

I think I was the favorite but only because I was an easier child. I hated getting in trouble, got relatively good grades & and am an independent adult. My sister was the trouble maker and still lives off my parents even though she's well into her 30's and has a child of her own.
ETA I hope I would never show favoritism.
