My mom taught me how to sew simple things (buttons, hems etc) and my dad taught me to cook. MIL/GMIL taught me to knit and I just taught myself to crochet. I hope to pass all of these along to my girls.

My mom taught me how to cook and sew and clean. My dad taught me how to call a handyman (and hit the snot out of a softball)

@blackbird: my dad taught me a mean left hook, how to pitch & how to hit the snot out of a ball too. He passed his glove down to me and I oiled that baby down. It was my prized possession!
My mother would say she doesn't know where she went wrong.

My mom taught me how to sew and clean and bake. Both parents taught me about finances. And my mom taught me all about etiquette!
My dad passed down his nerdiness and got me interested in tech stuff, which is why I became an engineer.

My dad taught me how to play guitar and they both gave me an appreciation for all kinds of music. Family tradition I am hoping to pass on to my kid (s??)

My dad taught me how to paint (he's a commercial painter) and plaster, and all sorts of handy work. He also taught me how to play softball and ice hockey, both of which I've continued to play over the years, though not this year obviously (22w pregnant!).
I wanted my mom to teach me to decorate cakes, but she refused saying that people would take advantage of me, and I'd be decorating cakes for everyone (as she did for years for my extensive family, often on short notice). TBH, people really did take advantage of her kindness. I did get a love of science and astronomy from her though..
Based in these, I plan to teach my kids everything they want to know, including lessons such as "it's okay to say no" and "you shouldn't restrict your interests because of society's silly gender rules."
