My mom was telling me that they had this contraption called a car bed when we were born ('75 and '77). Apparently it was just like a bassinet that went on the backseat - and it didn't even attach to anything! She admitted that yes, we rolled out of it a couple of times when she stopped suddenly!!!!

I don't think I had one when I was a baby but definitely had one when I was a toddler!

We definitely had carseats. But it was way too big for me as a newborn, so my parents put stuffed animals in alongside my head so my head wouldn't flop around.

My parents had a carseat when we did a cross country drive when I was 6 months old, but it wasn't required so a lot of the time, they had me on the seat or being held.
My sibs all had carseats.

We had carseats but my grandparents have mentioned multiple times that they had nothing like carseats when my mom was little.

Yes, we had car seats. It's crazy when you see them in photos and realize how much they've evolved.

We had car seats, the crazy thing is all three of us used them, so there was no worry about expiration and all of that like now.

We had carseats and I had a booster seat too. I remember clipping my finger in my booster seat once 
what's scary is that DH has cousins that have the same carseat NOW that I had 28 years ago! I don't mean it's mine, but it looks the same, I bet it was from DH or one of his siblings was little.
