DH really wanted a girl (because he only has brothers)and that is what we ended up with. Now he says he has no preference for gender for any future LOs.
Did your SO have a strong preference for gender for your first LO?

I'm 6 weeks pregnant and DH really wants a girl! He's an only child, but I think he sees my relationship with my dad and wants to have a daddy's girl too.

Hubs wants a boy, but wouldn't be disappointed either way. I have a slight preference for a boy too so it doesn't bother me.

I could tell he wanted a boy but never said anything to me about it. After what we went through, I know overall he just wanted a healthy baby.

@jholler25: I know very excited. Tried to get Alex to come to nordstrom rac with me yesterday but he refuses until we know for sur.

DH had zero preference. I wanted a boy. We're having a girl, and now I'm so in love with her that I can't imagine what it would have been like if she wasn't a girl!
And now I'm also scared that at our 20 week gender scan they're going to say that the 3D place was wrong and we're having a boy. Like, totally scared, because I am obsessed with everything about her.

@travelingbrit: It's a highly dangerous place, so it may be for the best:) The one in Boca is my favorite! They had a bunch of super cute Petunia Picklebottom diaper bags and swaddles last week. And that's where I got Harper's little Seven for All Mankind Jeans:) Next Saturday you can go HOG WILD!

DH looks forward to having a daughter someday. his father wasn't affectionate with his sons, so i think it would be easier for DH to bond with a girl because he would feel more comfortable being affectionate & close to her. he talks about wanting to learn to do her hair, which for some reason melts my heart! we would be thrilled to have a healthy baby, whatever the gender =)

hubs definitely wants a boy first. we're team green (not by his choice), but he already calls the baby by the boy name we've chosen. i think i'd like to have a boy first too--i loved having older brothers--but i have suspicion it's a girl.

DH really wanted a boy...and we're having a boy! I think he'd love multiple boys, but doesn't have that much of a preference for our next LOs.

He actually doesn't seem to have a preference, he gets super excited talking about the possibility of either gender. I would have thought he would prefer a boy because he's really into sports and..you know...the idea of a father playing catch with his son and everything lol. But no preference!

@travelingbrit: mine knows and he still refuses to do any shopping!

DH just always assumed he would have boys...multiple ones. Well there's a girl on the way and he is happy, but fiercly protective of her already and worried about all the people out there that could hurt her (boyfriends, pervs, etc.) Much more complicated than having sons.

We both wanted a boy, and when they said "It's a girl" my heart melted into a puddle and I can't imagine having anything other than my little angel. Funny how it went

I think Mr. Jacks had a very slight preference for a boy with Lala, though I was kind of hoping for a girl (I have sisters and all my close friends were having girls at the time.)
But weirdly for #2, Mr. Jacks strongly wanted a girl. I guess he felt really comfortable parenting a girl and wanted to do it again... (and I think he secretly didn't want me to buy any more clothes!)

We really wanted a boy, so we are thrilled that's what we got. Hoping for the same next time!

DH wanted a girl and he got what he wanted! This time around we'd both prefer a girl, but would be happy with a boy too!

DH wanted a girl more, but a boy first, if that makes sense. I sort of wanted us to have a boy, but more just because I thought we were having a boy. We're having a girl and it feels right! We love her already and are so excited. We don't have much of a preference for our future LOs either, although I guess it would be nice to have a boy too..just doesn't matter!

I think my husband had a slight preference for a girl because there hasn't been one in his family in a long time. And we ARE having a girl!

My husband definitely wants a boy. If we are having a girl, it's going to take some getting used to...

DH wants a girl, but he also doesn't want to break his family's boy-streak (75 years without a female born). He thinks McBebe is a boy. For as long as we tried, we'll be thrilled either way. We'll find out soon!

DH had a very strong preference for a boy. He definitely wouldn’t have been disappointed if the baby turned out to be a girl but he is THRILLED that it’s a little guy He would like to have at least one girl in the future but he wanted a boy as the firstborn.

No, he doesn't care. The whole idea of being a father is what he's concerned with now! Though, he does think that the baby is a girl. It would be very sweet to me to see DH with a little girl; I was my dad's firstborn and always felt a strong bond/understanding with him.

DH wanted a boy, and that's what we had. he said he'd like to have a girl next...because then i won't want to try again for a girl! lol

Personally I don't have a strong preference because there are aspects of both that I would be super excited (and nervous) about. I told DH if he had a strong preference we could find out the sex, but he also prefers the surprise!

Neither DH or I care either way. We don't care if we have twins, a boy, a girl, or whatever!
*hopefully no more than twins haha!
We're just excited to be parents!

my husband desperately wants a boy. i think he's scared of raising a girl because he has no idea what to do. obviously we'd be happy with either! we find out next week so we'll see what happens

We both have always said that we would like 2 girls. Although now that I am pregnant, I don't care I just want a sticky and healthy baby.

Neither DH or I cared either way the first time although we both thought we were having a boy (were team green and had a girl). This time I think DH would prefer a boy because he really wants to have a hunting buddy (my rule is that he isn't allowed to push hunting on any of our children). I don't have a preference again (team green) but a girl would be nice since they will be sharing a room.

Hubs wanted a boy, but the look on his face when we found out a girl was priceless, he was smitten immediately! He loves our nieces so he knows how to handle a girl. I think he will be a little more disappointed next time if it's another girl, but I know he will be fine because she will have him wrapped around his finger in no time.
