Our fish, which just died last week, was named by our daughter. She named it "Fish Our-last-name" It was so cute because her babysitter asked what was the name of her fish and she came up with it on the spot. (We had just taught her our last names the week before.) Anyway, now that our fish is gone, it's such an even sweeter story. Anyone else want to share how your pet was named by your LO?

LO was almost 2 when we got our dog. We asked what she wanted to name her but there were too many distractions. Plus I'm pretty sure she would have said Elmo..... and I didn't want to name my dog Elmo.
We ended up keeping the name that she came with anyway because she already answered to it.

No, but I remember naming my pet bunny when I was 4. My parents were trying to get me to decide on a name, and I saw that my dad's pocket on his shirt was torn and hanging down, so our bunny was then named Pockey Hang.

@artbee: Great job sacrificing your name desires for LO!We actually had the fish for about 6 months and only called it Fish because we are unoriginal like that. When LO said its new name it stuck!
