I did in my senior-level math courses. I was good in math until grade 10 and then it got hard and I got scared. Calculus was a nightmare for me and I would be up all night feeling sick about it if I had a test or something the next day.

yes. I did pretty good in school, but math always gave me problems. I hate math!

Nope-- both my parents were math majors, and placed a very high priority on math skills. Math phobias were not allowed! (Plus, genetically, my siblings and I probably were more inclined to be better at math, given our parents, anyway).

Not a phobia, but difficult math problems did give me anxiety, especially if I couldn't solve them within a minute or two. I'd get all flustered and start to sweat while I tried to figure it out. This didn't bode well for me on the SATs...I was a sweaty, anxious mess during the math portion, especially since there was a time limit, and I didn't do well on that section at all. Same with the GREs.

Phobia? No. Dislike? Sure. When I was a kid, though, I had trouble with math. I could do 3 x 6 but for the longest I couldn't do 6 x 3. It didn't compute that they were the same!

Haha, can't believe this is a real phobia! I loved Maths, it was my best subject, however if there's a science, specifically a physics phobia, I totally had that!

Not a phobia, but it wasn't my strongest subject. DH has a math phobia because as 'studying' he used to get hit for getting answers wrong or for taking too long to answer.

Nope, I am good at math. It wasn't always my favorite class but I always understood it.

Not really. I thought math was pretty cool. How variations of different order of events would cause a different outcome.

No, I always loved math! My dad taught me multiplication and division when I was in kindergarten (by my own request) and I was always ahead.

Yes, I absolutely did! Math ever since the 4th grade gave me intense anxiety. Once I understood it, I had a fear that I hadn't really grasped it and would fail miserably! I had to take Algebra twice in high school, which is so embarrasing!! Still do have anxiety over it sometimes! Talk about over analyzing something. I was more of a reader and writer
DH is the accountant at home haha.

Yes! I'm honestly not terrible at math and did well on it on SAT/GRE but I have had anxiety about it for as long as I can remember. I get so flustered when I have to do any math on the spot (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division included). I really panic when calculating a tip. My mind absolutely blanks and I usually pick a random number. I'm actually really embarrassed by it and can't believe I'm admitting it here!

I did until I got to high school. Then somehow it all clicked for me and I loved it.

No, I always enjoyed math. I like that it has finite boundaries and logic so there was no trickery involved

@mrs. 64: There are iPhone/Android apps that calculate tips for you!! I use them all the time... I always get paranoid that I calculated the tip wrong!

I have been working in finance so let's hope I'm not math phobic! I don't mind practical applications of math but I didn't enjoy it so much in school.
