I really want to take a vacation day on DS's 1st birthday coming up in almost 2 months. I just want to relax and hang out with my little guy and fix him a special breakfast. I think it would be nice!

Yep, we are planning on taking it off (it's a Tuesday) and taking her to the pumpkin patch so it's less busy!

Probably not. It's two days before thanksgiving this year and the girl who backs me up at work usually takes off around thanksgiving (and I get Christmas). My LO won't know the difference anyway.

Nope... We are doing two different parties, and his birthday is on a Wednesday and momma needs to work soooo... We will probably do something in the morning to "celebrate" though.

I was just thinking about this! Her first was on a weekend. But I think in coming years we will. We always spent our birthdays together, took a half day. Not sure what to do when she's school aged though?!

I'm a SAHM, so yes, but DH requested an early out tonight (he got out at 7 instead of 10-11. He would have taken it off but a guy from Headquarters was there to teach two classes that he had to attend.

LO's 1st birthday is the second to last day of school so I can't take off. We only have students for a half day so maybe I'll take the afternoon off.

M's first birthday will be a Sunday but I would definitely take it off and ask DH to do the same if it wasn't. I feel like it's a celebration of the three of us!

It falls on Sunday this year so I don't have to, but I plan to take off of work every year it falls during the week.

His birthday is on a Saturday this year, but I thought about taking the Friday before off. My parents are coming to visit though and I think they want that day with him to themselves 
I'd like to take his birthday off in the future. I'm a teacher though, so taking a day off is kind of a chore.
