No!!! My initial response was the same as your coworkers! I was thinking of some perverted Santa going around hitting on all the ladies and making lewd comments! And then you said gift exchange and I was all "WTF!!!"

Yep. I was in college before I heard it called White Elephant.

Nope, never heard it called that! I would have thought it meant naughty gifts too!

I've always called it Dirty Santa! When we tried to suggest switching to that for family Christmas at the ILs, I felt awkward saying that to my ILs cause it just sounds wrong.

I've played it before so that's how I know, the party I went to asked everyone to bring "gag" or old gifts. Someone actually brought used toothpaste. I really didn't think it was all that fun. What are the rules for the company party?

Haha no! I thought it was something naughty. I had to google White Elephant too. It's called Chinese Christmas where I live...although I don't know why. Hope it's not racist.

I've heard it called Yankee Swap, or Nasty Christmas (if you're allowed to "steal" presents that have already been opened). But not Dirty Santa. That sounds gross.
