A one day adult ticket to get into Disney World is now $95! How in the world do people afford to go to Disney world for a week? We are planning on going to Disney in the next year or so and I am already dreading prices inside the park. Seriously, $95 just to get into the park...

So if you go for 7 days, it's about $45 a day. $95 a day is the highest you'll pay for a one day, one park trip. Add more days and the price goes down

I'm local to Disneyland, so if DH and I ever want to go we end up buying annual passes for about $300. Sounds expensive but when you're about a half hour away or so, it's a much better value at that point! Haven't gotten an annual pass in a couple of years but I'm getting the itch to go again haha.
I agree with @kjpugs a multi-day pass might be the way to go for out of towners.

Also, pack snacks for your trips! Saves a TON on the little snack kiosks and just plan for breakfast before you go. Then you're only having to pay for lunch and dinner. If you go to the Pizza Port in Tomorrowland (I think it's still called that!) You can easily share most of those meals between 2 people. Just a tip!!

@regberadaisy: it's actually $90 to Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, or Epcot, just $95 to Magic Kingdom, for one day. The rest you can see on the chart, it goes down to $92, then $87, then $69, etc.
It went up less than $10 for the single day ticket (it was $86 or $88 before) so I'm shocked people are so mad. I think they just assume it's $95, so 10 days is $950. Not the case... 10 days would be $339. I think the prices are high but they haven't been raised by much AT ALL and I think they're fair that they're in line with what they have been and what you're getting (the MK is a tad higher I believe because of the addition of Fantasyland.)

@kjpugs: I had no clue that it was that high before the raise- in comparison it wasnt that big of a hike then - last time I went to Disneyworld was '08.

Oh and 2 and under is free, and 3-9 have lower ticket prices. I promise it's not as bad as it looks! Check out the link I had above. Yes a trip is an investment but it's not like $100 pp per day expensive

@lavender: talk to a Disney agent or travel agent about the trip. Often if you stay there you bundle ticket prices, the room cost, and meal plans. Meal plans are great (I think it's Disney dining? Something like that) DH says lots of people use them in the restaurants. I believe it's like you get 3 meals and 2 snacks or something like that. There are lots of options. Ala carte it looks scarier

@chopsuey119: I've been wondering what you need to get a kid 2 or under in, since kids don't have ID's, haha! My nephew will be under 2 so he'll be free when we take him, did they tell you to bring a copy of birth certificates or something? Or is it honor system? (Clearly we haven't taken kids in before!)

I am so so lucky that I still have a lot of former co-workers/Cast Members working at the Resort so I can still get in for free-- otherwise, I don't think I'd ever go!

Seems reasonable compared to sea world. It was around the same price and by far wayyy over priced for what you get.

Even at 3 days at the park, it is $87.34/day/person. For a family of 3 (with a child age 10 and up) it would be $786.06 for 3 days of DISNEY FUN...not including food, flight, hotel and souvenirs.
If you live nearby, great - it is definitely doable. If you live far away, though, this is like a once in a lifetime trip for some people. I know it probably will be for us, which is sad.

@sarac: @Mrs. Yoyo: There's just something about Disney World (I prefer WDW to the Land in CA; probably just because it's closer ;)). Everyone there is so friendly, everything is so nice, everything is done so *well*. From the parades and shows and fireworks to the thought that goes into the rides and experiences. Even waiting in line you're entertained. If you choose to stay in the resorts you never leave that feeling.
LO isn't born yet, but I've already started buying 5-day tickets one person at a time so that when we do get a chance to go, the cost hit won't be as great. I got a $200 gift card for signing up for the disney visa that I applied to the first ticket (bought at the disney store), and buying them now means I lock in the current price (they don't expire until 14 days from first use, so you can buy a 5 day ticket now and not use it for 10 years).

@kjpugs: I agree that I think $95 for Magic Kingdom is still a really fair price and there are lots of discounts for multi-day/park passes.
Seriously, think about what you would pay for a theatre show or musical (Maybe $30/person). Think about what you would pay for a cheapo carnival ride (maybe $5/ride so say Disney rides are worth $10/ride). If you add up the activities at a day of Disney, $95 is really not bad. We rode well over 10 rides, got to see 2 parades, a firework show, and see several stage quality shows. That was all in one day at Disney.

@mediagirl: True, but for us in Florida, lots of other things are once in a lifetime trips. Things like seeing the sights in Washington DC, a trip to NYC, Hawaii, Skiing in the mountains out west etc.

@chopsuey119: @kjpugs: last I knew, it was still the honor system. my sister was a tiny 4 year old (as in, wearing 2T) and she got in for free, no questions asked. Even if we had to "pay" it would have been free for other reasons.

We live about 15 minutes away from Disneyland and still cannot get ourselves to pull the trigger on annual passes even though the kids can get in for free.

@T.H.O.U.: Yes, this! Maybe I've been living in NYC too long, but $95 seems pretty reasonable for everything you get. I've been to Broadway shows that cost $100/ticket, and that's for like 2 hours of entertainment!
