You can call in advance to make a reservation for blue bayou. Also I know they do breakfast with the princesses. Maybe look into that. Not sure what else people will add but I'm excited to see!! We will be taking our 1 and 2 yr olds in September

Be sure you get your dining reservations the day they open, usually 180 days before. Get an appointment in the morning for bibbidy bobbity boutique so DD can enjoy her make over all day. Get fastpasses as appropriate (send your husband and grandma while you are at the boutique). Watch the parades, getting there early to get a front row spot so DD can see. Take an umbrella stroller if she gets tired easily, it's a long day of walking!

@T.H.O.U.: & @Mrs. Microscope: Disneyland dining reservations are only 60 days ahead and they don't have the online FastPass like WDW (unfortunately!!).

Definitely book your Blue Bayou reservation online when reservations open.

There is a Bibbidy Bobbidi Boutique if that's something your LO would be interested in. You'll need prior reservations for that as well, and it's located by/inside Sleeping Beauty's castle.

We just got back from a Disneyworld vacation. Most of the key things we did were the advanced planning/reservation stuff which it seems like you can't do, but I also got a subscription to touringplans.com, read up on which attractions typically had short wait times at which times of day and which ones they recommend you get fastpasses for, and made customized touring plans for each day of our trip. Then I downloaded their app and used it to tweak plans as needed on each day. It worked out amazingly well. Between the info from the site and our fastpasses, we didn't wait longer than 10 min for anything.

There are probably other sites that have a similar thing if the one I used doesn't have Disneyland (I think it does though).

@catlady: touringplans.com has a Disneyland section too. We used it 2x for DL and 2x for DW.
My secret tip is Steakhouse 55 for an end of trip breakfast. It's not well known and it is @ the Disneyland Hotel. Very affordable but fancy environment. Your grandma (or mom) would love it for the nostalgia. Never books up too far in advance and you can go before the parks open. Plus you can go into the Goofy picture taking place next door. The staff is very friendly to kids in there even though it looks like fine dining. Prices are good for breakfast though.

Also Cars Land Flo's V8 cafe has a yummy, simple breakfast you can sit out back and eat a quick affordable breakfast as you watch the cars whiz by.

@junebugsmama: Disneyland is actually still fairly low key. You can definitely decide to go the day of and still hit the major rides. While I think wdw is a lot more complicated and really needs more advance planning.

@junebugsmama: Seriously i put no fore-thought into going except bringing someone who has annual passes and knows the park well. We had a great time, better than I could have hoped. Some people love to plan for the "best-day ever" but I'd rather not stress about it and just have a good time
