Baby kicks, punches or pokes me a lot these days, mostly when I'm getting ready to sleep, and I like to poke her back. Do you ever poke back when baby is making their presence known?
I like being able to interact with her before I even know her.

Yeah, we've been doing this a lot for the past couple of weeks (since about 30 weeks), it is pretty cool that he is more interactive now! Usually it is when I am driving to or from work and sitting at a stop light.

At 26 weeks its not happening all the time, but at least once a day, we get to play!

I loved when I could actually feel her little body parts! I could lay there forever and play with her, sometimes I would drink super cold milk just to get her going lol...

@cyndistar3: that's something I'm looking forward too. It's still too soon to have any idea of what exactly is poking me. Is it an arm, an elbow, a foot or something else? Is she headbutting me?

@Mrs. D: Yea, for the longest time I was sure all she knew how to do was do flips on my bladder and shove her feet into my ribcage.

We had a battle over my lungs. She thought that they were the perfect place for her legs and I thought they were the perfect place for my oxygen. I'd sit with my palm against my ribs, but it really didn't help.

Yup I liked to poke her back. It was fun because there would be a brief hesitation in her kicking when I poked her back so I knew she knew I was there. And then sometimes once she knew I was there she'd just press her foot against my tummy and I'd rub it for a bit until she went back to kicking. Once she was born we had very similar interactions at first, she felt familiar.

@Maysprout: so cute! right now I think she's still trying to figure out if i'll poke back, I can't make out individual body parts yet.

Today I didn't feel baby move much (I have an anterior right placenta and if the baby is on the right I don't feel much). I suspected he was snoogled over on the right. So, I just started poking my right side and sure enough that woke him up and he started punching back : )

@winniebee: that's so fun! Mine doesn't respond to my pokes yet but I'm only 22 weeks, so hopefully soon! She just gets going when I stop moving.

@mediagirl: I had to give a few hard pokes : ) He's definitely much more active once I stop moving (at night, on the couch or of course when I'm trying to sleep!)

I never did because I was scared! I thought I might poke him accidentally in the eye or in the face somewhere so I didn't. I was also scared that their skin was so fragile since he was still developing that I would bruise him or something. I'm actually still concerned about that so I probably won't this time around either. lol

@banana: ha! I thought about it after the fact (hm, what if I poked him in the face??) but then I realized there's a lot of fluid and padding in between my finger and him : )

@winniebee: That's true. There probably is alot of padding between the finger and the lo. I just an overly cautious person I guess. Maybe I should try it this time since it might be the last time I get pregnant.

AHHH I can't wait. I'm 18 weeks and I'm STILL waiting for the flutters or goldfish or popcorn or whatever.
