I was thinking I'd need to get M a snowsuit, but then I was thinking, we can't put her in it in her car seat, so do we really need one? We have a bundleme for the stroller... and we could really bundle her up with a jacket and pants and stuff for walks.
She'll be about 7-11 or 12 months during the winter season.
Thoughts?

It would depend if she's walking. I would buy one second hand if you really think you need one.

@sera_87: So she'll be 1 in late April, I figure she *may* be sort of walking towards the end of winter. I'd think we'd be fine without? I could just buy one when/if we need it instead of in advance... I'm going on a shopping trip to Syracuse so I'm making a mental shopping list

We used ours a lot. He was an infant and it was very cold--didn't want his skin exposed.

We had a bundleme, and 2 heavy fleece "snowsuits", one from Northface and 1 from LL Bean. With the Northface, we could put her in the car seat with the suit on, and I liked it better than the bundleme; I thought it kept her warmer all over.
Depends where you live; we live in Maine and it snows a lot and is often below 30 (lots below sometimes!) so for us, a heavy winter suit was worth the $$$

We pulled LO in a sled a lot and it was necessary. When we put her in her car seat to go some where we just dressed her in warm clothes.

We have had one every winter of LO's life but we don't have a car, use the stroller a ton, and have lived in cold places.

We were given a hand me down snowsuit. I figure we will probably take her out to play, sledding and stuff, so we will us it then.

DD wasn't really mobile last winter, so we used her snowsuit probably 3 times. It was only for sledding pictures in the backyard. It was a BabyGap one that was very snugly and cute, but not entirely waterproof, so she wouldn't be able to use it now even if it fit her.
We could have done without it. We used her footmuff (Kaiser Little Sheepy) way more and it was definitely warm enough and very cozy.

We live in the middle of Canada - it's very cold in the winter so we used 2 sizes of fleece suits throughout the winter. It's thin enough that my ped said is ok for the carseat - although I know that's not her area of expertise I still asked. We had a couple of the really puffy ones too but only used them a handful of time in the yard.

My LO was the same age in the winter, and we made it through without one. I may have had a hand me down one in the closet, but I never found use for it.

We used ours a lot in NY (I think we used it in his carseat too, it wasn't so puffy that the car seat didn't buckle) - it was great because it covered his hands and feet, and I didn't feel bad about going out and about with him even when it was really cold outside.
