How old is T? Hehe, I can imagine F saying that too! He's 10 months and to help with the anxiety, we've been playing lots of disappearing games. I often go into another room and pop back out quickly so he laughs. Then I increase the time I'm "hiding". I also let him crawl into a different part of the house and don't follow him (or peek so he doesn't see me, but I see him). If he gets upset that I'm not there, I pop out and call him to me. I think it's helping.

Do you prep him at all? Whenever I leave the room I'll tell my LO where I'm going and that I'll be right back. More often than not he will follow me or come find me after a minute or two. If I just leave and he realizes I've disappeared or if he can see me take off without saying anything then he gets upset.

@JoyfulKiwi: almost 15 months. This only started recently!!
@Sammyfab: yes I've started telling him "next steps" because I think he is a spirited child. I tell him we are going to do this and then this and this and try to really talk to him.

I think I figured out thanks to @Sandy that separation anxiety is the cause for J's sleep regression... he's fine if I go into his room and hold him, but the second I put him back in his crib, he cries huge alligator tears and does this heart-wrenching sob-fest! Gah. These babies!!!
I put on a signing time dvd today for him so I could get something done and as I stood at my computer, he came over and was holding onto my leg. He stood and watched his show while standing pretty much on my feet. He just needs to be near me - it's crazy! This is new, as well.

@Mrs. Pen: oh dear. Did I mention my solid STTNer was up THREE times last night absolutely hysterical?? So much so that I went in thinking he had hurt himself. Turns out he just wanted to sleep on me and like Jacobi freaked the F out when I put him down. Hahha re the DVD. T has taken to standing on my feet when I am sitting. Can't be too close, I guess.

@Mrs. Pen: My dd is younger but at 8.5 months we went through a sleep regression that I think had a lot to do with separation anxiety. We now can't leave the room while she's falling asleep and we're getting close to 11 months. From 3.5-8.5 months we'd just kiss her, put her down, and walk out most nights for bed. It was getting better til we left her with grandma a couple nights and now she is a mess...plus she's close to walking (I think.)

Omg and I didn't write what I was going to comment...which was that I have absolutely no tips but my almost 11 month old does the same thing, except without the words. She just screams and cries hysterically.
