Sometimes when I'm really tired, people tell me that I look really exhausted or run down or even "awful." Luckily relatively little of my self esteem is based on my rugged good looks...
Seriously though, it's usually too much honesty for me. I don't mind if someone says I look tired... but if they say I look awful, then that makes Daddy feel hurt haha.
Do people ever tell you that you look awful?

I get the sympathetic, "You look tired..." all the time. When LO was 3 months old, we did a family photo session and the package came with a free make-up session for me and the lady spent 20 minutes trying to cover up my dark circles.

No one has ever said I look awful but I've been told I look tired in a way that makes it clear I look like shit. That pisses me off. Just say what you really mean or shut up.

I've def heard the "you look tired" but have yet to encounter someone who's that brutally honest (or not nice) to say I look awful!

I've gotten the "tired" crap before. Which is just code for "awful." I would be more offended, but usually I know that person is probably right!

People have told me I look tired before, but its usually when I am really tired so I just say nod and agree with them

Only my closest friends. During my 1st trimester when my nausea was in full force, they all said I looked like "crap". lol. TOTALLY doesn't bother me if it comes from my close girlfriends cause I would say the same to them.

YES. I get told I look "exhausted." Sometimes, if I'm feeling really ornery, I'll say, "So I look like crap. Thanks!" Most of the time I let it go.

I've never had "you look awful" but you look "tired" yes! Doesn't that just make you feel great?! I suppose they don't mean it to be mean but it kinda is to me.

When I was working during my first trimester, I got a lot of comments that I looked horrible. I was super sick from hyperemesis, and combine that with the first trimester sleepies I probably did look like death.
