awww, that's horrible! i think they're both super cute.

my brother and his wife get it all the time with their boys. they're so close in age, so people always make the comparison about which is cuter. but i think it's just something people say to have something to say, since the comments are all over the place. either that they look like twins, that the older one is cuter, or that the younger one is cuter.

Ugh! Yes! My parents. Makes me ill but that's just them having no filter as usual. I have a son and a daughter and they're just partial to boys to begin with. I've been working really hard to have them get to know her better. It's been working!

Both your kids are beyond adorable!

No one has said that to me really, but my mom doesn't have a filter when it comes to this stuff. She's careful with her words, but it just comes out somehow anyway. Recently she said one DD is "prettier than before" and my other DD is "very pretty, but not so much in pictures". Umm, ok!

I am sure my mom will say something once DD #2 is born. I am really not looking forward to hearing all the comparison. Gonna have to shut it down!

Absolutely not!!! I only have one so far, and while I do think he is adorable, I don't comment on his looks too often and am going to do everything I possibly can to avoid family comparing him to his future sibling(s) too. My SIL is due in Jan and I hope that there aren't a lot o comparisons of their baby to DS. I'm sure size will come up since DS was well over 10 lbs at birth and still is in the 99% for height and weight, but hopefully the comparing doesn't last long and isn't too often.

That would make me so angry. It's fine for people to think it, but so rude to comment to you about it. Hopefully thy aren't doing it in front of your kids...this sort of thing fuels sibling rivalry and resentment. I only have one so I haven't had this experience but it would make me mad

I should also add that generally, people thought my oldest brother was/is more attractive than me and my other brother, but that didn't bother me so much - maybe because of gender? Whereas people always complimented my cousin (who is one year older than me and as close to a sister as I'll ever have) on her beauty and when it came to me they just wouldn't say anything!

It has gotten better now as I'm older and have lost a lot of weight and grown into my looks, but it still stings to think about that. I think that with girls especially, people have to be careful with this stuff.

How odd. I think Charlie is SO handsome and Olive is SO beautiful. Both cute, but in different ways (they're boy and girl!) and I can't really compare them.

We heard a lot of "WJ is the cutest baby I've ever seen!" so now we hear a lot of "LMW is even cuter than WJ!". Haha. Personally, WJ ended up being exactly what I envisioned a cute baby to be, so I was afraid of myself comparing LMW to him and not thinking she's cute enough. In the beginning she was definitely not as cute as he was, when she was still all skinny and wrinkly. Now I can't believe she is as cute (or cuter!) than WJ. But again, even at this early an age, it's hard to compare boy and girl.

I only have one at the moment but something like this happened at my wedding!

My aunt was chatting with my MIL and BIL and said,"Your brother (my DH) is better looking than you!"--seriously, WTF?!

People suck.

We heard a lot of comparisons growing up and still do!
That's what happens when you have 3 girls.
Curious to see what people have to say about our kids once baby boy arrives. I'm glad Lo won't have a sister to be compared to. Dh and I don't do it on purpose, but we find ourselves comparing his 2 nieces

Wow, I find that very rude! I can't even imagine saying something like that! People can be very rude, saying things they don't mean or not thinking about the consequences!
