My male co worker told me I looked tired, asked "are you sure you're okay?" and THEN said my eyes were "glazed over." Geez!!

The best response I can come up to this is, "thanks, you look like shit, too", which at least elicits a laugh.

I always respond "thanks" and then they realize how rude it probably sounded. I did/do get it a lot.

Yup. I recently had to stop wearing eye makeup because my blepharitis is flaring up (grrr..I have blonde eyelashes) so I now hear it every day.
I'm like...nah, this is just what I look like with no mascara.

The receptionist at my old company was the queen of the backhanded compliment. I used to hear this one all the time. As well as some other doozies.

Unless I am actually sick and tired I don't want to hear about how "tired" I look. Don't people get that saying someone looks tired is literally saying they look bad?
