I just received the best compliment:
"Wow, you can't even tell you're pregnant from the back."
Why, thank you! Pregnant lady's day made.
What's the nicest thing someone has said about you or done for you lately?

@wrkbrk: FYI, last year we got DS' Easter outfit - a Ralph Lauren Polo romper - for $12.99 at TJ Maxx!

@oliviaoblivia: She is an idiot. You are one good looking mamma with three gorgeous girls!
My husbands aunt (they are Asian) told me something very similar the last time we went back to see his family. She told him in their language that I was much prettier before I had my daughter and it is such a shame that all his wife's beauty is gone I tried to get him to teach me some inappropriate responses for the next time she makes some ridiculous comment!

@mrswin: thanks friend! she's Asian too. No filter whatsoever. She's only ever seen me postpartum or pregnant so I'm trying to not let it bring me down. But man I was so excited that I could button my fat pants that day.

My husbands aunt gifted me a credit at a women's health center for an essentials oil massage (that we never could have paid for ourselves) that is supposed to help with emotional release. His whole family has been beyond supportive during my PPD/PPA.

I started this thread b/c I've seen so many about stupid things people say to pregnant women, and I really wanted some positivity today. And, really, it made my day when my coworker complimented me!

DH brought back a caramel apple covered in chopped pecans he picked up at a specialty candy store in the airport last week. So sweet
After bashing how big I look and I have the all over pregnancy weight gain not just a basketball I had been hearing my mom finally said something nice about how I looked when she saw me in person last week.

A sweet HB friend sent me some fun skin masks to try after my miscarriage last month! It was such a nice gesture at a time when I needed a pick me up and needed to focus on my myself and gave me an excuse to have a spa night when I didn't feel like going out anywhere .

@pregnantbee: I didn't mean to side track your thread. I honestly took what that lady said as a compliment. At four weeks post partum (at the time) I could give two poops about what someone thinks about the size of my bum. I have temporary big-bumness and am flattered that she thinks I was once pretty. I'll get it back.
@petunia354: I didn't know you had another loss, I'm so sorry. Hugs friend.

I've been feeling really crappy emotionally (this is just my bad time of year, unfortunately), and DH finally realized it and has been really trying to help. He took the baby for a big chunk last night (she's been really restless and needing more cuddles even when she's not hungry) even though he has to be at work early and I get to sleep later. And today an Amazon package showed up with something I really wanted that I'm really excited about! (Scraper blade for my new stand mixer.) He didn't tell me he was getting me anything.

I've had several people tell me that my baby looks so much like me. And someone told me today that my older daughter is starting to look like me (she's been a mini DH since birth). Since I think they are both gorgeous I take that as a compliment.

When DS was 6 weeks old we left him with my MIL to go run some errands. I had 2 people in one day tell me there was no way I just had a baby made my freaking month!!! I'd been feeling postpartum body hate.

@Jackiedavis87: when my son was about 6 weeks old a lady in Costco straight up asked me if I adopted him because surely I didn't give birth that recently. While it was an incredibly inappropriate question to ask I still wanted to kiss her! Ha!

My neighbors were walking by when they noticed me and my 33 week pregnant belly trying to move some furniture back into garage after the Salvation Army forgot to pick it up and it was about to pour. It was so nice how they all just automatically pitched in, including one of their sons (who I'd never met) who just happened to be driving by. Thank you neighbors!

Just recently, I had a horrible few weeks in a row where bizarre, difficult things kept happening one after the next. I was a miserable mess at work and worried my coworkers were getting sick of the continued saga. I was running late one morning and walked in to find a bag from Dunkin' Donuts sitting on my desk from my Graduate Assistant- she had brought me a donut (and a banana!) and attached a note about how she knew what a crappy few weeks I'd had and that she hoped the treat would help make things better
Also, last week while having my blood drawn at the Maternal Fetal doctor, the nurse told me she couldn't figure out why I was having that test because there was "no way I looked over 35"! Day made!
Oh, and I got the nicest surprise package in the mail from a dear friend who passed along some of her beautiful maternity clothes

Three months ago, I started an online FB forum for women to discuss their experiences with discrimination at work.
Someone I worked with eight years ago randomly messaged me on FB and said that the forum is "hilarious, witty and totally relevant and important." Yay!

DH came home after a 13 hour day with 15 minutes to spare before having to log in to his online business school class. He took that time to put DS to bed so I brought him a plate of food to his office for dinner and as he was pulling on his headset he said "Thank you for working so hard for our family. You are so sweet for making me such delicious food for dinner and for taking care of DS and I love you very much. And you're pretty. And I feel lucky to have such a supportive wife in my life." He said it in such a serious, almost mournful way, I just sorta laughed at him and told him to have a good class.
