I put a onesie on every day under everything and plan to until he doesn't fit into them anymore!
I also know lots of people who never put them on.

If LO is in a shirt I put a white onesie on under so his belly is covered. But we don't have many shirts mostly just fun colored onesies so he mostly just wears those

If she has just a shirt on, she always wears a onesie underneath.

I just put in whatever outfit I chose.
It never occurred to me to add a onesie. Why would you? Just to cover the belly?

If it's chilly out (is spring EVER coming?) or if the shirt she's wearing doesn't tuck in, I'll throw a onsie on underneath.

If its especially cold I will. But living in southern Texas that was like two days this year.

I'm still pregnant, but just curious because I'm always clueless about this kind of stuff... Would you use a onesie under an outfit in the summer? Or is this more for when it's chilly?

I do with everything! Our windows are pretty bad, and the winter wasn't a warm one, so I did it for the warmth factor. Now it's just habit...I have a white onesie under everything.

No, but only because I never wound up with any white onesies.
She always has a onesie on as the base layer, but it usually matches her outfit instead of just being plain white.

Most of the time, yes. She has a wicked bad scratching habit and will claw her skin if I don't. Plus, it's still pretty cold here.
ETA: I never bought plain white onesies, so I use the most neutral ones I have (usually white with a saying on the front from carters).

I never even owned one. It'd just get stained. But I didn't put on oneisies underneath clothing unless it was frigid outside.

Always a onsie and usually they are white. Sometimes I'll use other colors as we inherited so many clothes that he otherwise wouldn't have worn. Lately the onsie is also to help guard his regular clothes from the inevitable blow outs!

I don't. Only if it's super duper cold out. But she's inside most of the day and when she's outside she has on her shirt, a sweater, her coat, and the stroller bunting.

everyday!! he wears a white onesie (short or long sleeved) under EVERYTHING. it doesn't get very warm here.

He always wears a onesie under his clothes but it's not always white. It's cold in Boston!!

Nope. Don't feel like it is needed here in Texas and I hate dealing with extra layers.

so far it's been always since it's still pretty cold here and she was born in january. but usually it's a colored onesie that matches her outfit since we don't have many white ones. once it gets warmer, i think i'll stop though.

I never did until one time I was changing LO and my mom gasp in horror that she was not wearing an undershirt. It never occurred to me to put one on and didn't know what the big deal was. But being an Asian mom, she wanted her granddaughter to be extra warm and didn't want the fabric of her clothes to irritate her skin. After a few naggings from mom, I finally caved in and put one on. Now I ALWAYS put on an onsie or kimono tee underneath, mainly to keep her warm. Sometimes moms do know best.

Nope. S HATES to be too warm and will scream and fuss. Usually they say to dress your baby in 1 layer more than you ... my baby wants to be in 1 layer LESS than me.
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
Yeah, I don't like her little belly to hang out. I know I'm just like my Mom now. She had us in undershirts until we were in middle school. (not really)
grapefruit / 4066 posts
yes, she always has a short sleeve white onsie on under all her clothes. not sure if we will continue that in the summer though...
@winniebee: @littlebittyhouse: hey! im in Boston too! i'd love to have another new england meet up if others are interested, i missed the last one

@mediagirl: no lie - i wore an undershirt (mom's orders) until i wore a bra! I am with you on not having the tummy hang out - it makes me uncomfortable!
@NovBaby1112: would love a meet-up!

Not if she's wearing an outfit that already has a onesie with it, but yes if she's wearing a dress or shirt/top where her belly could be exposed.

If it is a shirt that could come up I put on an undershirt, or a dress I usually put an undershirt under.

@littlebittyhouse: that's how long I wore them!!!! Haha. Our Moms. So funny.
