Olive is two years old, and sometimes she gets bored when I read the actual words to a book to her. So instead, sometimes I'll point to random things and ask her what they are... or ask her simple questions like, "Where's the pumpkin?" She loves it!

I have sometimes swapped out lines in softbooks or rhyming books, so "Mister Beaver" becomes "Justin Bieber", etc, etc.
Purely to relieve my own boredom, but occasionally it will actually make the book slightly more interesting.

I speak Russian and DH doesn't. He makes up hilarious stories to the Russian books based on the pictures. It is very entertaining for me!

Sometimes, to keep from being bored of reading the same things over and over. I will sometimes skip stuff if I'm tired.

I read the words. DH makes stuff up ALL the time! He does it with the books he first like.
