He wanted 3 to start with, I wanted 2. We've agreed that if the first two are the same gender, we'll adopt a third (and I'm open to adopting a third even if we naturally have a boy and a girl.)

My husband wouldn't mind four or five. I don't want more than two. Who knows how many we'll have.

When we adopted our first son we were thinking two. Then I got pregnant with twins. So without actually discussing we went from 1 to 3. My husband wasn't sure about number four but I really wanted to have another so he agreed but was nervous about providing for four. We agreed that If we had a fourth I would get a c section instead of VBAC and get a tubal ligation. He joked and said "so the only way I get out of a vasectomy is to have a fourth, that's blackmail". After a few months to think he was on board.

We're both happy with 2 but husband had wanted 3 in the past. He always said it was up to me since I'd be the one carrying them. He's happy with just 2 now that he knows how much work they are.

I want 3, DH wants 2. But he's open to 3 if he suddenly gets a huge promotion and we could afford it. I'm thinking he knows that's never going to happen, which is why he's telling me that.

We've always agreed on 3; we might go for 4, but it would depend a lot on how 3 goes. I think I could convince my husband to have 4, but he's definitely less enthusiastic than I am.

We are thinking 1 and done. But who knows what we will think in the future. We are just starting out TTC.

DH and I compromised before we got engaged. It was a big deal to him to have kids in the first place and he was only comfortable with one. I've always wanted 2, but it's not a deal-breaker or anything. So I agreed to 1 - and we got engaged and married...

But now...since we had to do IVF; I'll find out next week whether we're expecting 1 or 2! It'll be my one and only chance for the second! : )

Pretty much. We've agreed on at least 3. I would prefer 4, and DH has actually agreed that if by some weird streak we have 4 boys, we should adopt a girl...hehe..

Yes, we both want 2. But depending on how hard it is when the LO arrives, and how long it'll take to conceive again, we're open to one.

At first, we didn't know if we wanted any. Then, we decided we wanted two. Then, after giving birth with my first I wanted to be done (my recovery was horrible.) But, after having so much fun with her, I wanted more. We talked about two, but three if the first two were the same sex, but then we changed our minds and wanted three no matter what. Of course, our first two will be the same sex, so we would've come up with three either way.

I think we agree just because we have always collaborated on family talk and didn't have any preconceived notions. Neither of us had a "dream family" planned out forever or anything.

We're planning on only having one. We would both LOVE to have two but we just don't think it will happen for us. It's okay, we're going to dote so much love on this one that she will never know she is an only child.

I am happy to agree with whatever Mr. Jacks wants. He's the primary caregiver, so what he says goes.

We both pretty much agree with two unless there is an extenuating circumstance (such as an oops or our birthfamily has another full sibling that they are not able to care for-- both of which are highly unlikely)!

I say 3, he votes 2. We've agreed to see how the first 2 go before making a final decision.

We have always agreed on four, but with the morning sickness I've had with #1, I might have to rethink that plan.

He wants four! LOL I want three. Now that I'm pregnant, I also want the option to stop if we have one of each with the first two!
