Generally speaking, I think we do not have the same taste in names. DH is more traditional and I'm more classic with a twist of uncommon. We thankfully agreed on both of our kids' names though, so I guess it didn't matter in the end! 
There were definitely many many vetoes used on both of our parts though. Probably more with DS1 since our list was longer.

DH will shoot down names, but then never replace them with any he came up with!

Nope. I prefer old fashioned, simple, well known names. He prefers more unusual, but not made up, names. He says my favorite girl names are old lady names.

Yup! We both like unusual names. Our DD's name had less than 25 girls named the same in 2014. The names we have erected for unconvinced #2 are not quite as unusual but not in the top 250

Not at all. He vetoed my top 20 names almost instantly. Although I did the same with his names..
Naming DD was torture. To be honest I had to settle quite a bit when it comes to her name but we were never going to completely agree

Luckily yes, we do. Both like classic to old fashioned names, generally. He does tend to like more 80s names where I tend to like names that are so classic some might say they are boring, but we have a good overlap of the old fashioned names.
Didn't help us come up with names that much- still took ten a hours after G was born to name her!

We do. We both like classic and old-fashioned names, though I like quirkier names than he does. I'd say our taste is concentric circles, mine being the larger.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: My DH is the same. I would never have gotten him to agree to DD1's name if it wasn't the name of his recently deceased grandmother.

No we don't and it makes things so hard. My husband tends to like more traditional names and I tend to like more unique names. He thinks some of my names are off the wall and I think his are boring! Surprisingly he suggested our oldest child's name and I really like it and it was a done deal. For #2 we were no where close to agreement but I really felt strongly about his name and he came around to it. For #3 we are still negotiating. He thinks it's his turn to name this baby. He has only one name that I don't dislike. I'm pretty stubborn about names but may not have the energy to be so firm about it. I know serious mom problems here! Ha!

Yeah. I like pretty offbeat names and he likes VERY offbeat names (example: his #1 girl choice was for our last baby was Goldie).

Not really. He likes names that remind him of nature or a certain place. I generally just pick names that I like the sound of.
His favorite names are Fraser/Frasier and Douglas for a boy. These both remind him of fir trees. I do not like these names at all.
We have kind of agreed on Elijah/Elisha if we ever have a boy because I like it and the name reminds him of a state park we visited while we were dating.
He has never suggested any girl names so I don't know which ones of those he likes.
It should be interesting trying to name our future children with him. I think he will end up shooting down a lot of the ones that I like.

We had much more similar tastes for a boys name than a girls name. We pretty easily agreed on a boys name but we really had to work to find a girls name that we both liked once we found out that DD was going to be a girl!

yeah, pretty similar. We did have a hard time finding a name we both loved, even though our individual short lists were similar styles. Now, whenever I throw names out there he typically likes them.

No and it's already posing a problem in naming this little babe 
We come from different cultural/religious/racial backgrounds and DH feels it's absolutely necessary to give baby a name that reflects his heritage whereas I prefer something a little more neutral.
We've actually stopped discussing it because it's so heated. I don't know how we'll get over this stalemate...

Yes! For the most part! We have a few we have disagreed on but we love traditional names and a few family names.

We both like uncommon names that are family names if possible.
Our first sons name isn't in the top 1,000 but it's a family name and quite cute. If this next one is a boy we have another family name we might use that is in the 500s.
For girls we have no idea. The ones I like for girls are Rowan, Hazel, Iris, Harlow. But none of those actually seem like the right name. DH likes Summer. And yesterday he says hmmm what about Amelia!? Which is not my style/too popular. Ah. We will never decide. Haha

Yes, but we still found it challenging to pick a name for our DS. We literally only agreed on one, and that is his name! We find out soon the sex of baby #2. Tech thought it was a boy at 12 weeks. If so, we have some serious name hunting ahead!

For the most part but there are a lot I suggest and he says no. We have a girl first name if we have another. Boys are hard for us.

No, but luckily there is a decent amount of overlap. I'd say that neither of us likes the other's favorite names, but we found some common ground a little further down the lists. DH likes names that are more sci-fi/fantasy sounding, and I tend more toward grandparent names. Neither of us likes anything too common.

Not really... but somehow we independently came up with what turned out to be DD's name. So that one was a no brainer.

No. He likes classic names. I like names that are more unique. I was totally shocked that he was on board with D's name when I suggested it! We still haven't agreed on a name for Babygirl.
