DH and I have a totally different way of talking when we're alone together--we use abbrievs, Spanglish, weird nicknames and random words/sayings/inside jokes that we find funny. If anyone overheard our private conversations, I would be embarrassed based on the weirdness factor alone, and I know we'll have to quit once LO is here so she's able to string together complete sentences someday. 
Do you and your SO speak your own language, or are we just weirdos who spend way too much time together?

Yes... and we have a name for our language... and DD has picked up on some of it and tells all her friends at daycare and then we have to explain what she really meant... It's a hard habit to break, though.

Yes, we have weird made up words and acronyms that only we understand! Sometimes I forget and use them on my friends and they have no idea what i'm talking about.

@Honeybee: BAhaha that's amazing! I'm hoping we won't accidentally teach our DD to speak this weird language but I know it'll be hard to quit.
@banana: I know what you mean! Sometimes I think things in my head and can't say them out loud because friends wouldn't be able to follow.

@tororojo: Totally! We have all sorts of random sayings, made-up words, nicknames, that wouldn't make any sense to an outsider!

Hubby's all about made up words or using appropriate words in inappropriate context all the time! We speak khmer/english to each other.
