I love balancing my checkbook! I prefer doing it on an old school paper register...DH has never balanced a checking accounting in his life!

Nope. But I do look at my account every day though and make sure nothing shady is going on : )

Nope, but like @MamaMoose: I always log in to my bank website and check it out!

@MamaMoose: Ditto! Although not every day, props to you!
When I first got a checking account my mom sat me down and taught me how to properly balance a checkbook, I did it for a couple months, wrote down all my expenses, etc. I haven't done it since, but I do know how!
I rely on my online account to tell me what we have in the bank

I haven't in ages, but like @MamaMoose: I check my accounts online daily.

I use to balance my checkbook religiously but as checks took a backseat to debit cards it got to be too much. Now I do everything online and just monitor there. I write so few checks that the online balance is fairly accurate.

Nope, I'm an online stalker though. Dh is the same way!

I monitor our accounts online because my husband primarily uses his debit card and forgets to record the details.

@MrsTiz: I work at the bank where our accounts are held so it's super easy for me : ) Otherwise I probably wouldn't be as diligent.

I guess I balance because I always schedule my online payments for the last day possible so my online balance always looks higher than it should!

@autumnlove: Haha I know that feeling. Our mortgage and our credit card bill (by far our two largest expenses since we use our credit card for everything and then pay it off in full each month) get paid on the same day. And then the day after that I see where we are at and go ahead and move money to savings for the month. So that next day the checking account is looking pretty sad!

Nope. I also am on-top of my accounts though - between the app and website!

Nope. I don't even have a paper checkbook. I use an app on my phone from my bank to monitor my checkIng account. Sometimes I look on the computer, but mostly from my phone and not everyday, more like every week.

I used to use Quicken at home to balance my accounts, but these days I just keep an eye on my purchases and export things to excel once a month to monitor my spending.

I love balancing mine too! I have found it cuts down on spending. I also have a mint.com account and thank GOODNESS for it! Back in Feb I got a high spending alert text to my phone (I just woke up from a nap so there was no way I could have spent any money), and someone had somehow gotten a hold of an account number for my debit card and spend over 2,000 on Walmart.com buying a laptop! I got the charges dropped, but if I had waited longer and not been vigilant...who knows if I would have been out for the money!
