I like to keep my books so I end up buying a lot of them. But I think that once LO is older, we'll start going to the library more often.

I have a Kindle so I read most of my books on it but I do love "regular" books too so I'll head to my local library every once in a while

@ALittleP: yeah, at least at my library, you have the option of a kindle download or e-pub (which is nook and other e-readers)

it's pretty cool how it works! you have 5 days to download it from when the book is available to you and then 21 days from downloading. and it really is not available after that 21 days. you can also return the book if you read it sooner which is nice because some of the books only have a few copies and a LONG list of people that want them.

the downside is that there aren't a ton of options, but i've also read a lot of books that i wouldn't have been exposed to if i didn't sign up and they do have a good number of best sellers, but i'm sure it depends on your branch!

you do have to have a library card in order to use most systems though. i thought i'd be able to be all clever and sign up for huge libraries and have access to their books, but it doesn't work that way as far as i can tell.

I thought I would go less once I got my Kindle, but I still go about once every two weeks. Library books are free, most Kindle books aren't. Plus, I live in a tiny little town and going into the library is more of a social experience than anything.

We just started going to the library to get LO books. If he really likes it then we can add to his collection.

I once checked out their entire travel guide section (like 250 books) at once, when we were planning our honeymoon and didn't know where we wanted to go. I filled my entire trunk and then carried them all into the bedroom and then just sat on the floor reading bits and pieces for days. It was awesome. And the librarian was like "Just please, don't leave them in the overnight drop."

I need to get a library card...I loved checking out books when I was younger!

I haven't been to the library in YEARS! I used to check books out all the time, but not sure I would any more. Library books are dirty.

I don't for me, but I look forward to taking LO for a weekly field trip when he's a little bit older and can pick books himself.

Yup, I love our librarians!! They are so helpful and so kind. I tell them the authors I'm enjoying now and they find me new ones to follow. It's fantastic. They also walked me through the online e-book reserving, as well. It helps that a friend works there, too. I may buy a book every 5 months or so but other than that, I'm a library girl.
