We have video monitors, so it's a pain to take them down and bring them anywhere. My mom has an audio set we typically bring to have on hand though. I think it will come in handy since we will be up later than the kids, even though we will be sharing a room in the cottage.
Do you bring a monitor along while traveling? Video or audio?

Yes. Our video ones are super easy to take down so I bring them. This weekend we will be staying in my MIL's guest cottage. We will definitely use the monitor in the evenings after T goes to bed so we can continue visiting at the main house.

We sometimes do, sometimes don't. Inevitably we regret not bringing one when we forget!

Just audio for my Christmas trip. I used the Annie Baby Monitor app on my iphone and use an old iphone/ipad/ipod and turn it on when they sleep. I think audio is fine for our next trip. If I need video, I could leave my iphone in the room and facetime with my husband's iphone.

We do, but our video monitor is easy to take down and transport. If it were a pain, I'd probably skip it or take my sis' old audio monitor.

We used to bring our video monitor when LO was younger. He is so loud now that when he wakes up we'll know.

We actually bought a second camera for our video monitor so that we could easily travel with it. We also use it if our son is napping somewhere other than the crib (mostly his swing when he was younger). Totally worth the investment!

We usually bring a video monitor when we travel. Ours is easy to take down and set up, so it wasn't a big deal.

Usually just a cheap audio one that we got just for that purpose. Now that she is in a bed we've brought the video one sometimes if I'm not totally sure how baby proofed her room is.
I like to have at least the audio so we can be anywhere we want in the house, depending where we stay.

We used to, but I recently downloaded the Cloud baby monitor app and it's great! I'm using it right now because we're at the cottage, it gets better range than my monitor.

We haven't since we are usually sharing a room in a hotel. My ILs have one in their house, so no need to bring one there. I would consider doing it if we rented a house or something like that. FWIW, we don't even have one at home, we've never needed it.

It depends at my parent's house or at my grandmother's house we usually don't because we can hear them without. Otherwise we'll often use the video wifi one. While annoying to set up it usually doesn't take too long.

We don't. I don't think we have ever stayed anywhere where we weren't sharing a room with LO.
