Yes!! We usually buy a new bone or toy. My old pup used to open up his present himself and he loved it! I hope I can get my new pup in to the spirit too!

Yep! I just finished shopping for their stockings today! I think DS would be upset if the animals didn't get anything for Christmas, lol

I do! He always gets the stocking full of cat toys. I found one at Martins (our grocery store) for only $2.99 this year!

Always! Usually just some treats, but this year I think our dog may also get a new collar.

Always! They've got new toys in their stockings already, and we're going to get them some of the real cow bones they sell at the grocery. We figure if we got them early, the smell would make them find a way to yank their stockings down!
My mom's dog used to shove her head into her stocking to retrieve her new toy (once we got it down and squeaked the toy). Mine don't do that, but I'm trying to get them to!
ETA- This also makes a good excuse to throw out some of their old, ratty toys. We'd be switching them out periodically anyway, so why not make sure to do it on Christmas and their birthdays?

Odd man out here, but no. Pets are pets in our house. Maybe it comes with having a farm but I hate when people treat their animals like people And giving a gift would qualify as that to me.

We buy him a set of toys and some treats. He's found them under the tree and keeps trying to get to them when we aren't looking. Lol

Yes, we are trying to find the biggest chew bone/rawhide that we can find!!!

Yep! Though to be honest, she likes the wrapping way more than she ever likes the toy inside it

We usually put toys in her stocking, although sometimes we get her sweaters and games for under the tree.
@pui: We had to stop putting food-related presents under the tree because she'd try to open them!

Yes! My dog loved to unwrap presents. He has a couple under the tree.

@spaniellove: I'm impressed you can leave ANY presents under the tree in advance. Our pup sees wrapping paper and immediately thinks, "OOOOh, a toy for a puppy!" Not quite, Boo

@LovelyPlum: She doesn't care about the Christmas stuff but she must claim ALL the baby things as her own. Meaning she has to climb into anything meant to contain a baby.

@spaniellove: our dog does that with soft things, which I suspect means it will continue with the baby things. If it's soft, she's all. over. it.

We usually do, but so far I haven't gotten them anything this year. I know they don't know, but I better get something or I will feel guilty that they didn't get any surprises from Santa.
