We used to buy toys firsthand, but lately Bee has been getting them secondhand. It's such a money saver, because we can usually resell the toys for the same amount of money we spent on them! Kaching... free toys!

Almost everything is either hand-me-downs or gifts. We have a pretty strict no-buy policy when it comes to toys. Except for little things less than $5 when we're out and about. Nothing cuter than the way your LO's eyes light up when you buy them something and they can take it out of the store with them. Nothing more frustrating than when they drop it 5 mins later and don't care about it anymore! Haha.

we got 99.9% from my husband's sister. FOR REAL, I'm so glad she gave those to us. I can't imagine buying everything we had AND then eventually throwing them away. Toys are great things to get 2nd hand. I actually regret some of the things I bought first hand!

I buy mostly second hand toys and clothes for them (and me) at the consignment shops!

Mostly first hand, because my husband isn't into second hand stuff. I've tried to get him to see the benefits, but he can not get past the germ aspect of it all. It's also a status thing to buy your stuff first hand where we live...I wish it weren't the case, to be honest. I have no problem with some things being second hand.

I think as long as things can be sanitized, and are in good condition, there's no reason not to buy second hand. Less waste!

Everything we have is first hand - we don't know anyone who has little babies to even give us second hand toys! I currently have a good friend and cousin expecting this summer so they'll be the recipients of LO's toys...Lucky bastards!

I am just a big recycle believer! Plus I love Toy Story and can't bear to think of all those toys that are perfectly good and no child to love them! 
I know I'm such a nerd about these things! Haha

I will buy second hand mostly. I have hard time getting over the germy side of it, if it looks dirty I won't use it. I like to see who I'm buying from too, so mostly it's garage sales or craigslist.
I always take every piece apart and sanitize it.
I bought LO's jumperoo from a consignment shop for $35 when it was $50 on craigslist, and $90 new. I swore after 2 hours of sanitizing I'd never buy from a consignment shop again, I know most only take clean toys but this was DISGUSTING!!! I almost put it up for sale just to buy a new one, but DH assured me I cleaned it well enough...
