This came up in another discussion, and I thought it might be interesting as a separate thread!

It has been hard for me to make the transition to first names! But now that I'm getting old myself, it feels ridiculous to keep calling my old piano teacher Mrs. Soandso.

For a while I did what I did with my MIL, which was completely avoid any names at all for years at a time. Finally I caved and started using her first name. Still feels weird, but I'm glad I finally made the switch. At least, for some of my teachers and parents' friends.

Do you call your old teachers and parents' friends Mr/Mrs. SoandSo, or have you made the switch to using their first names?
