I still call my parents "mom" and "dad", but refer to my in-laws as "grandma" and "grandpa"! Before I had kids, I just never referred to my in-laws as anything.

Both in regards to LO or about LO it is grandma or grandpa, but if I am say taking to my sister I would say mom or dad

@mrbee: ha ha- I'm the same way! I always felt uncomfortable calling them anything and grandparent names gave me an out!

I still call my parents in and inlaws what I used to call them before having kids.
When I'm talking about them to the kids, I'll refer to them as grandmom/halmuhnee/etc

Haha. That's like my husband--he calls my mom "Nana" now, because that's what all 6 grand kids call her.
I called my inlaws "Auntie" and "Uncle" before and still do now--it's cultural. It's what you call anyone a generation older than you (NEVER first names which is considered rude).
