Yeah, it happens in the city a lot...nice not to have that in the suburbs. When they ask me that, I do say "No, I don't care about children or no, I don't care about gay rights." just so that they won't talk to me anymore. It is really irritating!

I find it really irritating. I walk through a big intersection everyday and there are solicitors there every day. I had one tell me once when I wouldn't talk to him or give him money that I should go rob a bank because children are starving. I just want to walk to work in peace.

We only see them at stores, but they drive me nuts. I'm also not a fan when the cashier asks for a donation when I'm at a store checking out. The stores always say no solicitation on their doors, but with the cashiers doing that and the people in front I don't feel like they follow their own policy.

I can't remember the last time someone's asked if I care about something..

When I worked downtown, I saw them a lot at a certain time of year. I saw a few in a suburban shopping area for two days, but then they disappeared - I'm guessing the business association got them kicked out.

I used to just find them annoying, then I got very angry with them. One of the workers was talking to a man, then the man walked away without giving them any money. I overheard the worker make a very offensive/racial comment about the man. Aside from that incident, I wouldn't sign up on the street to give money. If I choose to give money, I will do it on my own time after researching and making sure the money I'm giving is going to be well spent.

Luckily around here we don't really have that. I think the last time I had to deal with those kinds of people were at college. I didn't mind, I felt like it was just a part of being in college.

We live in a small city, and this never happens here. When we lived in a larger city, it would occasionally happen when you were downtown.

I don't see them on the sidewalks a lot but I see them outside of grocery stores/target/etc. I get annoyed when I have to walk a certain way and keep my eyes down and sometimes they still manage to run after me (or anyone.)
