I am pinning all these cute ideas for Easter (egg related food, crafts, etc), and it made me wonder whether a lot of people celebrate Easter even if they're not religious. We are not religious, but I am planning an egg-themed bento, and possibly an easter egg hunt.
Do you celebrate easter even though you're not religious? And how do you celebrate it?

Yes, the same way I celebrate Christmas.
We usually go to my IL's for a big late lunch. The past year or two DH's brothers and their families have come down so there are baskets for the kids and a big egg hunt later in the day.

We do. We go to my aunt and uncle’s house every year and have a big, formal Easter dinner with an Easter/spring themed dessert (i.e., cake shaped like a bunny, fresh edible flowers on cheesecake, etc.). The dinner food is always themed as well, generally to a specific geographic location.
When LO gets a little older, we will have colored Easter eggs for her to hunt.
ETA: Oh, I forgot Easter baskets! We all exchange Easter baskets filled with chocolate and fun goodies.

I always thought that coloring easter eggs was a fun activity. I would still do that, and have a nice, spring meal. Maybe approach Easter as a "welcome to spring" holiday rather than a religious one.

We celebrate Easter by enjoying "Springtime". LO is only 3 months old so we haven't started any traditions for her yet but we were JUST talking about this the other night. We decided we will celebrate easter by dressing up (sort of) and doing a nicer family picnic at one of our local parks.
We'll do the easter bunny, baskets, egg hunts, and the like but will skip the religious aspect for our family of three. We may however visit our in-laws some years and MIL is religious. I am not opposed to attending church with her those years when we are with them, it just won't be a part of our family's regualr Easter traditions.

We are not even remotely religious but we celebrate all holidays because we see them more as fun family traditions than religious ones. We'll dye eggs, do an egg hunt and have a big potluck meal with friends and family.

You can just call it a day to celebrate Spring! I'm pretty sure it was a pagan holiday to celebrate the Spring before the resurrection of Christ was lumped into the same holiday, so it would just be going back to it's roots.
Baby animals are a symbol of spring, so bunnies and eggs and chicks make perfect sense.

I worry about this in the future! Right now (no LOs) we celebrate Easter by spending the weekend with my in-laws. We usually go to church with them. We don't mind going to their church (we got married there, actually) but we are both atheists. I don't think it's a big deal now, but I'm worried about confusing our kids once we have them. We'll probably go a secular, "yay spring!" route, but I'm not sure...

We are not religious, but will do egg hunts and dying eggs with the little ones. Probably won't get them all dressed up, though.

Yep! Same as Christmas! Growing up we always decorated eggs and got an Easter Basket and had an Easter Dinner (Ham - yum)! We had egg hunts some years, but not every year.

Yep! Same as Christmas. Growing up we celebrated Easter as a fun spring holiday, had a nice family dinner and decorated eggs/had an egg hunt. My DH is even less religious than I am, and he's already excited about the thought of LO going on an Easter egg hunt!

There was a spring holiday in the Easter spot long before Easter existed, so I think you are on solid ground!

No....we *are* very religious but just not Christians so...we don't celebrate Easter or any of the religious Holidays. We have our own huge holidays.
I do, however, go to Easter aprties or Christmas parties because friends invite us and of course, I love celebrating their special days with them. They celebrate with us too on our holidays!
So, I'll get gifts for friends sometimes but I don't decorate or anything and certainly won't with LO. I don't want to confuse him..
