We're kinda in the same transition. We used to change her diaper everytime she woke up, when she was a newborn. Lately, at 4.5 months she's begun waking up a lot again. We don't change her because 1. she'll freak out and 2. it definitely makes her wake up completely. I feel kind of guilty, I'm not sure if she's uncomfortable but it seems like she falls back to sleep just fine.

Only if there's poop, otherwise we let it ride. As you said, it's less disruption and diapers are so good that they are unlikely to leak.

Like you, we did when he was a newborn. Once he started waking up just once to eat we stopped because it would really wake him up.

We always changed her when she woke up for feedings, and stopped when she started sleeping through the night at 2 1/2 months. We bought a hemp insert for her cloth diapers then.

We did until about 3 months unless there is poop.

Hmm... my LO is 9 months old, and I still change his diaper during his middle of the night feeding. I even woke him up once to change a dirty diaper. I'm glad he doesn't mind too much.

I changed DS at every feeding during the night from birth to about 8 or 10 weeks. He started sleeping through the night most nights around then. If he was awake when he got up (as opposed to sleepy fussing) I'd change him then feed him. Lately just popping his pacifier in his mouth and holding him for a few minutes gets him back to sleep.

There are a few times he fell asleep early and I hadn't changed his diaper for bedtime yet. I let him sleep for a bit, then did a diaper change while he was asleep. I've managed to change his diaper about half a dozen times without waking him up!

Eli has been sleeping through the night since 3 months old but we dutifully change his diaper at around 10pm every night (his bedtime is around 6pm and he wakes around 6am). We only do it because we can... he doesn't get woken up by it and we feel better changing it midway than not at all.
