I was changing her a few times a night, but it seemed to be waking her up too much so I stopped. Now, she wakes up really wet, and hasn't been sleeping the best at night. I'm considering changing her at least once a night, but obviously only if she wakes up.

LO usually sleeps through the night so no! She wasn't sleeping that well a few weeks ago when she was really congested and I always changed her when she woke up!

He is almost 4 weeks and usually wakes up twice overnight & gets changed each time.. his bum was broken out for a while so it was a must but thinking about letting it ride now that triple paste healed it up. There's no way to tell if it is poopy or not - and it usually is - EBF poop doesn't seem to smell!

@scg00387: No, it doesn't smell that strong! I have a hard time knowing when LO has pooped.

I used to when she was little. I stopped doing it at 8 months.

Also, using overnight diapers helps - VERY absorbent.

We just started using overnight diapers. If she wakes up to eat later in the night and is very awake I'll change her, or if she's sleeping longer and almost been in the diaper for 12 hours, I'll change her.
I've noticed it leaks if she goes past the 12 hour mark.

@Rubies: @BelugaBean: what brand do you guys use? I don't remember seeing them in sizes smaller than 2s is that true?

@Bao: I don't ever remember seeing them in a size 2. Our stores have Huggies starting in size 3 and Pampers in size 4. We normally use Pampers during the day but use the Huggies overnight diapers since she's in a 3.

Nope! I stopped changing her at night when she stopped pooping during the night... So about 4-5 weeks old. Now I only change it if she poops and wakes herself up. She sleeps through the night most nights, and even when she doesn't it's not worth it to go through the whole process for a pee diaper.

@Bao: We have the Pampers overnight in size 2. They were a gift when LO was first born. They have been a lifesaver.

We change in between sides...so I nurse one side, change, re swaddle and nurse the other side.

We stopped changing him at night a long while ago. We use honest company or sevenths gen diapers and have never had a leak/blow out!

@Bao: I think that was around when we stopped changing him - 4-6 months. It also depended on the night; when he woke up to eat, how wet was his diaper.
I was cloth diapering at the time (not anymore) which made it easy to double up on absorbency! But even since switching we haven't had an issue.

LO goes down for the night in the 7 o'clock hour, and I change her diaper into Pampers Baby Dry when we go to bed around 10-11. She doesn't poop when she is asleep and sleeps through the night so I let het go. She hasn't leaked through yet!

We did when she was small. We stopped when she was about 3 months old when we got our cloth diapers.

I change her if she wakes up but she can usually go 11-12 hours at night.

DS doesn't STTN, but I don;t change him when he wakes to feed because it wakes him up way too much. He loves diaper changes and he thinks its some kind of game...so NO GAMES at 3am! argh.
We just use overnight diapers in size 2 (a bit big but I make them work). I also use rash cream as a preventative measure since I know he will not be getting a change for some hours.
So far: no leaks/no rashes! -
We change DDs diaper once when she wakes up in the middle of the night. Otherwise she definitely leaks through if we wait until morning.

I used to change DS every time he woke to eat as long as he was wet. He usually needed it. Once he cut down to one feeding a night, it just depended on the night. We've been using Pampers Cruisers for several months and they've been great for overnight use. We've had maybe a handful of leaks in the last 9-10 months.
