I love to chew ice! I know it's bad for your teeth but never thought too much about it... until our kids started begging for ice to chew on!
Gotta ix-nay that bad habit, before they hurt their little teeth!
Do you chew ice?

No way, and my FMIL, a dental hygienist, would probably beat me if I did! She's always talking about how terrible it is for your teeth.

@mrbee: UGH! that's terrible! Thankfully I don't do it often, but still. lamesauce!

I do. I can't help myself. @Mr. Bee; @Twist; have you ever chewed the ice that looks like little cylinders? It's softer than regular ice? My mom and I used to stop a restaurant just to get a cup of that ice to chew on on the way home from school when I was in HS. The waiters knew us really well and as soon as they saw the car they would have a cup ready!

@Mrs. Twine: Yah that ice is dope. I wish my ice cubes came out like that!

I chew ice....as do all my siblings. But only good ice (the kind that isn't too big)! I have a SIL that hates our familial ice chewing habit....but strangely, none of us have ever had a cavity, so we tell her it's because of our ice chewing.

@Mr. Bee; I'm also thinking that ice is probably not quite as bad as the ice from the fridge. Just 'cause it seems easier on the teeth. Someday if I am ever rich I will have an ice machine that makes that ice. And I will chew ice in our home movie theater.
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
@Mrs. Twine: Pretty sure that even that good ice is still bad for us!
blogger / nectarine / 2608 posts
@Mr. Bee; I was just thinking along the lines of a lesser evil. But, yes, I'm sure that it still is bad. But such a fabulous sort of bad.
@Twist; I'd get some and send it to you, but it would melt. If you are an ice chewer I think you'd like it.

I loove to chew ice. It's probably for the best that I haven't had access to an ice maker for several years. Now that I do, I find myself pouring cups of crushed ice for myself

@Mrs. Twine: haha awwww, that's so sweet of you! Melty ice is just not the same *sigh*

UGHHHH no but my old boss used to. All day long, right next to us. CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP. It is one of my most hated noises in the world. Worse than nails on a chalkboard!!!!

Stop the habit now! Chewing anything hard is so bad for your teeth, you can break teeth, especially if they have fillings, and need crowns!!

All the time! I love chewing ice, and it's always been a habit of mine. I know I shouldn't, but I just can't resist!

Nope, I never really have. I will sometimes if it's mostly all the way melted and teeny-tiny, but otherwise, not at all.

Nope! My mom is a dental hygienist and she always scared me about breaking my teeth.
