Alternative way to ask this question: Are you a terrible person?
LOL kidding...sort of. I really don't think there's any good reason to NOT clean up after your kids - I'm not saying spotless, but if they make a huge mess there's no excuse for not doing your best to clean up at least the bigger pieces. Unless there's some sort of extenuating circumstances where you have to rush out suddenly/unexpectedly - and in that scenario I would leave a very very nice tip.

I don't worry too much about stuff like smears and stickiness on the table, because don't most places spray/wipe down the table after you leave? I definitely pick up food from the floor, though. And we leave a (slightly) bigger tip.

My LO has MSPI, so she still hasn't eaten at a restaurant---I mean, she's sat with us while we ate. =) And she's eaten little bites of fruit or salad veggies, but no messes yet. I guess this stage will happen when she's older...

always!!
Heck - I clean up after myself if its a casual place like TGI Fridays - I will stack the plates and collect all the silverware and then put all the dirty napkins on top!

I clean the table and pick up big chucks or trash off the floor but I don't get on my hands and knees and clean it up. They will have to sweep the crumbs up anyway. I try to avoid messy foods while we are out though to minimize the mess though.

I pick up large pieces of food and any trash he threw down (napkins, chopsticks, etc) and wipe up the table.

@Wondstruck, years of waiting tables have taught me that generally, people who don't clean up their messes are rude and inconsiderate. So yes, terrible people And i'm not talking half a sandwich you missed. I'm talking full out tornadoes that make you say WTF.
