My mom called my husband and me mom and pop today. I hate the name pop for dad. My brother goes by it. My husband does not. So, I corrected her. She blew me off! Meh.
Do you correct people if they call you but the wrong "name?" Maybe just your parents?

I don't have the same situation but I never correct people when they call me my sisters name or when they call me by my husbands last name which I didnt take. Meh, I don't care enough.

People butcher my name all the time. Im pretty use to it so depending on who they are and the situation I will correct it.

One of my coworkers called me Wendy for 3 months like 6 months into my job. I would correct her every time. Wendy isn't even close to my real name, wtf.

Nope. People get my name wrong all the time (it's not really uncommon or difficult) and I've just become numb to it and continue answering. My DH even calls me Aliza sometimes because he thinks it's himarious! (Epson rep called me this and after correcting him a billion of times he still kept calling me Aliza so DH somehow finds humor in that).

This is a little bit different, but my FIL calls himself granddaddy all the time, but we don't want him to go by that (that's my dad's "name")... I keep trying to correct him, but he's not getting it.

i use to all the time...but unless you are hispanic it is a given you will get it wrong...my name is not common at all, in fact i have never met anyone else with my name...now i dont even care, so you can imagine the names/ pronunciations they come up with at Starbucks...

People always get my name wrong, and I sometimes correct them if it really matters...sometimes if it's not big deal I let it go.

No not really, people often call me by a name very similar to mind, and sometimes people call me by DH's name (we both have unisex names) and even then I don't, I think its because I'm lazy and just simply don't care...... I once knew this guy and called him by the wrong name for MONTHS and no one bothered to correct me, I was horrified when I realized, I felt awful.

I get referred to as mom, mommy, amma (which is Tamil, my DH is South Indian) by a variety of people when I really prefer momma/mama.. Oh well! The grandparents work out fine for us since one set gets English and the other gets Tamil
